I have been dragging my feet and having a hard time getting this one finished, but it is about ready to go out the door to a good friend who needs a little sunshine in his life right now.

Lest anyone think this is merely a gift, this is my end of a trade I made with Vic. I tried to make it as special as possible and I hope you like it buddy.
I didn't get a clear picture of the bow's name on the top limb, but it is "Mato Cetan", the Lakota words for Bear Hawk. It also has "WALK IN BEAUTY" scribed on the belly of the top limb right where he will always see it when he draws the bow.
God Bless Buddy,
Your Friend Brian
Carbie!!!! Man, you are building bows now...very sweet...you're right, the Vicster could use something nice at the moment.
Good job.
Ray, I only build a few bows here and there and I AIN'T NO BOWYER!!!!! This one is the nicest these hack hands have scraped out. I really wanted this one to be SPECIAL for a very special guy.
BTW - Nobody else can call me Carbie!!!! Since Ray is old enough to be my dad I am going to let it pass this time. Next time, I am going to take away his SAMMICH!!!
old enough to be YOUR grandpappy...come to think of it...when and where were you born????? I swore off sammiches 3 weeks ago....going back to the ole svelte Ray for when we chase meeeces.
I am getting ready to chase BEARS!!!! I put my bait out friday and it was EMPTY on tuesday!!!!!!! IT WAS SLAMMED! I am going to try to shoot one this year at a little farther away than the 2 foot shot last year. Me and you chasing Meeeces sounds like more fun than the law will allow. LOL!!!
Ol' Vic will sure have fun with this bow...its sweet looking!!!
hey carbon caster that is one fine bow. and it is going to one fine person. man he is going to love it. well done brian. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :campfire: now thats what this family is all about.
This act of kindness is one of many examples that I have seen on this site and is just another reason why I joined today. Way to go Carbon Caster.

WOW, i been having a rough week. Bad things just keep piling on what allready has happened and i drive up here to get lifted by this site and see this??????? Brian you really hit me hard with that bow. It really turned out awesome and words can't describe it or your gift in this trade. Pleased is an understatement for sure. Sure miss this site and all the good people who post on it. And yes i can't wait to shoot it and wear Mato Ceta out. Thank you very much my friend!!!
Very nice job Brian and glad to see you didn't give up on the bears.
Vic,
Don't forget the neighbors cat. LOL!!!!!
I wish you could be here in a few weeks to smoke a bear with it.
David,
I was a bit discouraged by the setback, but it was the best thing that could have happened. This area is BEAR HEAVEN!!!! Been praying for you BTW. Glad to see you back on here.
That's a really beautiful bow. Really love the thin limbs and widow looking riser. some fine craftsmanship! Sure to put a smile on Mr. Vic's face once it is in his hands.
Very, very cool, Brian...I really like the riser mass and shape...nice looking tips too.
I'm sure it will put a whole lot of sunshine into Mr. Vic's life, and most likely some backstraps on the dinner table.
