I was in the shop today after work and low and behold saw this. Shell snapped this pic and then made anice stalk within 20yrds and went to snap another one and the batterys went dead in the camera. I do believe this was a nubber buck.<>< (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v83/fishrofmen1/DSCN2029.jpg)
I think it was an 11 month old deer, but I am WAY jealous of your beautiful back yard!! (My side yard is a highway)
Killdeer
Visitor's like those are always welcome, especially for DINNER! :readit: It is nice to have critters in the backyard. Looks like things are greening up in Wi.
Brent
Humm just where is slim.
Purdy green spot you got there Frank
You live on a golf course?
Yeah if ya look real close ya can see my flag stick for when I feel like smackin a little white ball! Yeah during rut we have some monsters come through here. They don't stay in the open to long. They kinda are moving fast. One has been making a scrape on a small apple tree for the last 2 years just right of where this deer is. It's a funnel from one park to another park. Theres an old stone quarry that is now a small lake so they gotta come right through here and taunt us. Shell and I hunt about 2 miles from here when I get a chance.<><
hey real nice deer you got there frank  you should set up a blind in ya yard LOL!!!!
Nice pic Frank. Thanks for sharin!!
Nice yard.
Ya know the yard is long enough to shoot ariel targets. From the back door to the end it is about 250 yrds and 65 yrds wide.<><

To bad they want let you shoot them in the park back there.... :notworthy:
That bench is in our yard in front of our firepit.<><
Frank,
Your yard seems to be called a park from where i am.Wow!Very nice yard!
Gil
Thanks Gil it is a blessing for sure. Only people that live near us are my two sisters and the husbands. Which BTW do not hunt or shoot. When it rians alot the back yard flood and we get loads of carp in the yard. That's when we really have fun<><
Wow Frank,
Very nice yard and I'll bet it is nice to see the critters. I am planning on getting a place out of the city in the next year or so. I bet it is nice an quiet there. Thanks for sharing.
Donald
Hey Donald,
It's a nice property for the city. We can still hear the bustle of a major roadway not far from the frontyard but the scenery and the size is nice considering what I've been used to anyway. It's a huge blessing for us to find it, about 5 min. from downtown.
We have deer all over the place, a problem with the city traffic so many accidents...Franklin is the only left in Milwaukee county that allows bowhunting only because the legis' hunt and will not budge in outlawing it (yet).
They hire sharpshooters to come in and thin the problem herds in the rest of the city but they are still a huge problem.
Big deer with very low CWD counts in the area, what a shame. But the meat does get donated to the food shelters which we have many of locally so that's a good thing.
Sorry for rambling, just thought it was great to still have the land to hunt around here but can't hunt the yard so we get teased big time!!
So, you might say when the river runs high and the carp come into your backyard it is like shooting fish in a barrel....? Or something like that.
Ya you could say that. There are so many carp it's not funny. If we dont remove them before the water lowers it STINKS!<><
I did not realize ya'll lived so close to the city. That is great.
I used to live in San Angelo, TX years ago and where I had my horses stabled, ther were deer and turkey everywhere. It was 100 yrds off of a busy street on the north end of town below the dam of OC Fischer lake. Corps of engineer land and we could hunt it with bows. I was always jumping deer when I rode and saw lots of turkeys.
It was weired seeing the critters so close to houses and highways. They were used to it and paid no mind to the traffic, but when you went in there they knew something was up.
Donny we had some big yotes in the yard last night and this morning. Told Shell she has to take the camera with her when she takes stella out.<><
If I get within' a hundred miles of a city I get hives. Don't know how anyone lives in or near one. Nice big lawn would help for sure. I live near the big town of Manns Choice, where population varies between 250 and 265 each year.
George we are blessed in that we are in the middle so to spaek of a park. A bike path goes through the back but it way back and not a problem. Franklin is the only city in Milwaukee where you can hunt deer witha bow. Thing is getting aplce to hunt can be hard. we have two real nice farms we can hunt.<><
But you got to mow that stuff :bigsmyl:
