Title: Arrow Rests
Post by: Tim Younker on April 26, 2007, 10:33:00 AM
Hey Guys what type of arrow rests do you use on a longbow? I like shooting feather fletched arrows but, they seam very expencive to use daily for target practice. Does a bear weather rest or sometype of rest like, that work well for Vanes. After a couple of sessions of target practice, my feather fletching looks like a dog chewed on them.
Right now I use a rug rest, and it doesn't work at all well with Vanes.

I have heard that you can shoot vanes off of a flipper type rest but I personal have never tried it.  3Rivers sells a collapable vane that is supposed to shoot like a feather but I have not tried that either.  I like my feathers and shoot off a shelf and I am content with that.

I shot feathers off a flipper rest for years with great luck and no feather damage. Good shootin' !

If your feather fletching looks that bad after only a few sessions, I'd say there's probably another problem that could be corrected.  Just a thought.

I'm with Jeremy. Sounds like you need a tune-up. Hap
