I tried to post this earlier but it got moved to the moderator section. Not sure why.
I'm picking one up tomorrow for what seems to be pretty cheap. I was wondering if anyone used one. It is supposed to have a bandsaw on it drill press and a tablesaw. Not sure what the motor is but for the price I'm paying I can't pass it up.\\
so anyone used one?
Oh and if I shouldn't post this here I appologize.
I think I would like it because of the horizontal boring machine configuration for drilling risers for BowBolts. I have seen one in operation and it seems to be a very nice machine. I bet you are paying a nice figure EVEN if you are getting a deal. They are pretty expensive.
I never thought of that. I have had a time or two that a horizontal drill would have been nice. I think it will be handy.
I'll let you know after I pick it up. It's a steal I think. I don't want to say how much yet. :bigsmyl:
Jason, I have a mid 60's model. It is great for use a lathe, disc sander, grinder, and all the attachments are still available. They are a nice addition to any shop, no matter what you paid.
Jason, I've owned one since about 1978. I currently have several stands with motors so I can keep my band saw and belt sander ready at all times.
The drill press and table saw are part of the main unit. The band saw is seperate and originally sold for $400 just for it.
Like I said the band saw and 6X48" belt sander I use a lot. If you don't have a belt sander and want to make bows, I'd look into one.

Glad to hear it. I actually got lucky I think. I go to pick it up here in a little while. Glad to hear it is worth the money. After I get it I'll let you know what I paid for it. I can't wait realy. I don't have a bandsaw yet so this is a welcome addition. Now I just have to make a spot for it in the garage.
Ok I got it now. It looks to be one of the 50 - 60s one (green) according to the shopsmith website. It isn't a new machine but it ain't bad either. Fired it up before I bought it and it worked great. Came with a tablesaw and the jig/scroll saw attachment. No bandsaw.. Oh well.... Guess I'll pick that up later. After all I got this cheap.
I paid ... Are you ready for this....$150.00 for it. I figure for that much if I need it I can get my money back out of it easily.
Macbow,
I have a craftsman belt disk sander I use a bit. I was hoping for the band saw attachment but oh well. I think I did ok anyway.
Yeah, I'd say you done good for that price!
