OK,
I bought these limbs from a Ganger.. on the 17 inch TD riser they make a 60 inch bow. Spanish cedar limb veneers, santos rosewood limb wedges, with sheephorn tips

Then I got Dave and Beth to build a riser for me out of Midnight Ebony dymondwood (made of ebony, instead of maple or whatever most dymondwood is built from) with a stripe that mimicked the spanish cedar and santos rosewood in the limbs

I know you other Schafer recurve nuts will enjoy seeing more of Dave's work...the rest of you, just pardon our mush! :bigsmyl: :campfire:
Man Ray, thats a beauty!!
Those veneers are very striking. Enjoy!
She's sweet, man...enjoy
Ray~
Looks great! Yessir, Dave is an Ar-Teest! Silvertips rule!!!!!!
Ray, you do NOT want to hunt with that bow. Send it to me, and I will take care of it. Somethings you just have to do for a friend, you do not have to thank me.
Ray isn't that bow backwards? Shot for the wrong side. Better send me to have fixed..
SWEET ray, i gotta few more months!man its like doin time.
AAAFFFFF-RIIIIII-KAAAAA!!!! :D
Thanks, Mel...I knew I liked you the minute we met. I'll turn her right around to you as soon as I get it Thursday, OK? NOT!!!!!!!!!! :knothead: :bigsmyl:
I've named her Black Mamba. Hopefully that's the only one I will see while I am over there in SA.
Mamba Mia!
That riser is awesome looking. I love the sleek lines and can only imagine how good it must feel in the hand. I can almost feel it looking at the picture. That is a sweet looking stick!
Love the veneers Ray! Looks like a hog killer to me. Congrats Bud!
Wow! Very striking bow! I really like the ebony riser.
Sean
Congrats :bigsmyl:
probably the most understated bow I've ever had built. Guess old age and good sense are sneaking up on me. I really like the clean conservative look of the riser..you can't see in the picture but the midnight dymondwood DOES have some gradations in color and so its not exactly like phenolic...just tough to pick up in a photo...and the limbs will look like nothing in most of the places I hunt..completely disappear in fact...what more can you ask of a hunting bow?!!!
Just Blood ... LOL
BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THATS AH AAAAAAAALLRIGHT!! :)
WOW, Ray if ya ever decide to sell it I will buy it! No question! Just a beauty.
Danny
Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, now that bow is YOU! Smooth and classy. Now go get some critters in S.A.
Beauty Ray! Now are you going to spray paint it for Africa??? :bigsmyl: Doc

Wow your too much.Thats a beauty.
Another unique Silvertip... nice looking bow Ray !
OUUUCH, now that's a beauty!!!! the limbs are off the hook! And look at the stripes in the riser...
go ahead Ray!
It's a small world...Beth just sent me a bunch of pictures of Rays bow to confirm I made the right choice with riser wood...now if I could just decide on limb veneers...maybe I'll just have Dave dublicate Ray's bow and save myself any further deliberations :) :)
Pretty bow Ray....good choice!!!

Simply beautiful. Stunning. My kind of colors.
Love that black riser! now go get it bloody. Skyler said hello. Don

That is one nice looking bow.

Well,, Did you get it?? Did you get it?
nope....still waiting.
That is sharp! Enjoy it!
ray is this your first tip or do you have bunch like some of these other guys?hope you get it today
third.
OFF the shelf or elevated?
I just shoot off the shelf....but I'm gonna slap a flipper on it and see how she shoots just for grins and giggles.
There isn't enough difference in the two, according to Dave, to really worry about tillering it differently..so I just had it done for the shelf.
The handle is custom- and when I got it today I felt it was the best-fitting bow handle I have ever had...shot 3 arrows at 15 yards and cut fletching with the last two...so she is definitely a shooter.
Oh no...... here piggy,,piggy...
Look out porkers the Cosmo Kid has a new weapon!
And its not nearly as heavy in the handle as I was fearful it might be...for example, its HALF the weight of the bocote model I sold to Knife River...I was thinking that ebony dymondwood would really add some heft...its very comfortable to hold...not too light, just right.
I really, really think I am going to like this bow.
And I get to fondle her in a week, he,he,he!!!!
My God Ray, 12:20AM? you really stayed up late last night!
here's some :coffee: before you go back and slice more fletching off your arrows!!! :)
Good for you ray glad it shoots good
