Title: M.A.L. versus Mother Nature
Post by: mike g on April 22, 2007, 10:44:00 PM
This weekend I went over to Pacifica CA for a Trad only shoot....
I arrived mid morning on Sat and set up my Booth....
Later that afternoon it began to sprinkel but the wind was light....
The club members let me stay inside the club house, nice wood stove....
Anyway about 2230 I was laying there and had one of those funny feelings, so I looked out the front door, and all I could see was a tangeld mess where booth used to be, A wind came up and just destroyed my Booth, all my tabels and all my Leather goods where all over under that mess, So here I am out in the wind and rain trying to salvage all of my gear....
I take it inside and lay everything out on a tabel and start drying it all out....
Sunday  Morning it's a nice partly cloudy day and the shoot was good over all, well except for the one little thing with Mother Nature....
Hopefuly, I'll be able to just replace the frame work of the POP UP that was twisted up....
My POP UP canope was a good one, it was only about a year old and cost about $350....
   So, how was your weekend........

We have had wind gusts up to 50 mph all day.  Decided it was a good day to stay inside.

Sorry to hear about your booth.

That stinks Mike, i hope you can salvage your goods. We had little wind around here this weekend, but we had more than our share during the winter.

Sorry to hear of your problems Mike.  I hope you can everything squared away at minimal cost and effort.  In response to your question, I'm almost embarrassed to say that it was gorgeous.  Absolutely the nicest weather so far this year, and I attended a trad shoot about 1/2 hour from home.  It doesn't get much better than that!

Mike, why didn't you keep that wind on that side of the Sierra?   I didn't even take out a bow on Sunday, it was that bad!  Hope all gets right for you, Semper Fi
