Would y'all forgive me if I brag just a little bit here? My "Ol' HB" (first bow I made) is going to be in the running for April Laminated Wood Bow of The Month on Primitive Archer web site (and magazine). I shouldn't say anything, as I probably will be lucky to get even a few votes - but this ol' fool is thrilled just to have his first bow in contention among the fine bows (many of which are seen here first and/or also) I see there monthly. Sorry, had to toot my horn a little - . Thank you for reading - :notworthy:
(Mike and I have been talking and I think my second try is going to be an Osage selfbow - BTW - to be started soon)
Way to go boy! Can't wait to see the photos. CK
"Vote Soon, and Vote Often!!" isnt that how the Old New York Robber Barons did it? :archer:
Bernie, that's great. Congratulations, and good luck with the contest.
I'll be rootin' fer ya.
Yeah, all (valid) votes greatly appreciated - but only if deserved - :) .
So, you're one of those talented guys who's bows I'm always drooling over in that mag...congrats, and can't wait for pics...
Bernie you are on a roll with the good fortune lately. I would say it's karma but don't want that horse beaten to death again so let's just say that you are very deserving and leave it at that. :bigsmyl:
Yeah vote for Pedro oops I mean Bernie HEHE :0)
Congrats on the nomination.
Way to go Bernie, and good luck.

Way to go and congrats. Can't wait to see it in print!
Don't want to mislead anyone - it won't appear in print unless it wins - and there is always tough competition, as you can imagine.
You are sure to win Bernie, everyone loves you.Except John Dill, who say's he's waiting to see if his new kid looks like you. By the way, is that one of them cane arrows with the primitive fletching atachment? :biglaugh: see ya soon Don
Way to go Bernie, you deserve it my friend!!
Congrats Bernie, great job on the bow, you deserve the moment in the spotlight.
After seeing your bow I am glad I don't know how to post mine!
That bow looks great!

Alright a new GURU..folks you can now send your bow buidling questions to Bern at newbowguru@Ibuildem.com
LOL Congrats Bern, proud and happy for ya.
Y'all are too much (and too great) but I love it.
Batman, (Don) that is one of my Canes indeed, with the "primitive fletching" (afixed with Fletching Tape - LOL) I'm a man for all seasons... er - eras - LOL. No wonder I haven't heard from John Dill for so long ;) - Tell him that if his Baby looks like me it is only because he has a smart, good looking, strong minded wife who has simply willed that the child look like me instead of him, so it's path through life will be easier - LOL (Also I love 'em both equally, as he well knows - the big clown! :D )
Mickey, thanks but please don't put that on me :saywhat: - I have trouble remembering my own name when I wake up mornings - how would I ever remember all those things about building bows that guys like you and other real bowyers carry in your headbones??? I'd have a perpetual headache. All I have to hold in my poor head is the proper knowledge of who to ask or go see - :)
That's a hec of a bow right there Bernie. Hey you have to remember what grandpa from the real McCoys used to say NO BRAG JUST FACT!
Thats a fine lookin bow Bernie !!This is the first I've seen pic's of her and I must say ya done good.Kinda funny my wife just picked me up my first copy of PA and I was eye ballin those monthly bows.Good luck!!
Look out O.L. here comes BERNIE THE BOWYER.Good Luck Bernie! :notworthy:
Ha-Ha you can bet the "Old Sailor" (O.L.) isn't a whit worried - he's still my main Hoss.
I remembered someone asked how the bow shoots. It honestly shoots very nice, smooth and little or no hand shock and others around here (that draw the same as I) agree. I do have to cant it more than my other bows, and I haven't ouite got the just right arrows for it (for me) but I, and others, are very impressed with it's shootability.
Hey Bernie,is that the bow you had at our last shoot? if it is thats a nice bow.I did'nt know you were going to enter it in a contest, good luck Wes
Yep, that's the one, Wes - I didn't know it either - LOL. Thanks for the good wish. I figured out the night after the meeting that I had put my second nock point below the first one - instead of above it where I intended for it to be - Duh.
Bern, had not seen the finished product! It's beautiful!I'll call again soon. BP
Hey congratulations Bernie. You've got my vote. I read my PA and TBM at work on the night shift, so I hope I get to say to my workmates 'Hey, I know that guy'.

Graham
Bless your heart, big buddy. It must have something, Bill - to get you to actually post - :D Thanks, friend.
Way to go, Bernie. However, there's no need to brag. Everyone knows Marines are the greatest at anything they try!!!
Ahem! I can live with that :D ;)
Semper Fi
Bernie!! You sir are the man!!! :archer:
Thank you, Mark, and Semper Fi to you too.
very nice---I really like that grip Bernie---what is it and how did you do it ? looks like it would give a sure grip even if your hands were sweaty or you had gloves on
