I know we all have one or several(most likely several) that if we had the time and money to go on we would. For me a bighorn sheep or goat hunt in the rockies would be a hunt that dreams are made of. What's your dream hunt? Cheers, Matt

Moose/sheep in Alaska
Elk bugling among quaking golden aspens on the edge of a mountain meadow filled with blue lupine and the air full of oxygen and me being able to hike without any effort and at the shot of the arrow everything would go in slow motion and the elk would fall within sight. Miraculously a pack team would show up and butcher and pack the elk out and I'd return to camp for a gourmet meal of fresh elk steaks and go to sleep to do it all over again.
What?.... You did say DREAM hunt?

Spot and stalk black bear in B.C.
Leaving in 2 weeks. Guess my dream is becoming reality.
My dream hunt used to be elk in the Rockies. In 2004 I did that. Now there's a beautiful tanned elk hide on my wall to remind me how much I want to go do it again. I've still got a few packages of elk steaks that I'm hoarding in the freezer.
Another dream hunt of mine was to hunt wild, free-range hogs anywhere they live. Last summer I added that to my list of "been there done that" hunts thanks to Curtis Kellar and Charlie Lamb. That was a hunt I'll not soon forget.
Within three months of returning from chasing pigs in South Texas, a good friend of mine and I were on our way to Northwest Ontario to try our luck at hunting bull moose during the rut. The good Lord smiled on me then too. I can honestly say the happiest moment I've ever had as a bowhunter was when I heard the my bull go down.
Just for good measure I also took several ruffed and spruce grouse with my recurve while in Ontario, which was another longtime dream of mine.
What's next? I've still got some unsettled business with mule deer, and I've always wanted to hunt black bears...preferably in Alaska. But to be honest, I'm always anxious to hunt anything I've never seen and anywhere I've never been.
(1) Elk anywhere.
(2) Anything in Alaska.
Kinda hate to answer these because it just reminds me that they probably will never happen.
At this point I have only hunted whitetails in my home state, Alabama. While the whitetail action here is very good, I want to go west and hunt mule deer and elk. Once I've done that, I'll think about my next dream hunt.
Moose in Alaska.
Dream hunt that will happen in the next couple of years...buffalo and other species in Australia and Africa.
Dream hunt of real crazy dreams, Marco Polo sheep and the "TIME" and money to really make that happen.
I am going to go with Mickey after the BIG DEER!!
Moose!! on the Moose John river, Float trip 10 day's long. Then on the way home, I hit a Jackpot at airport casino, and leave for Unit 9 Arizona elk hunt for 15 more day's.
Hunting the UP of Mi with Ron LaClair. I have always enjoyed his stories and pictures of his hunts.
Wow, that is a loaded question. I have several, most I have written about in one media or another, so I'll "long story short" it:
1--The ultimate dream hunt- My Dad cancelled his Caribou hunt in Alaska in 1965 when he found out I was on the way. I'd like to not only give him HIS dream hunt, but join him on it.
2--Red Stag--It was the hunt of royalty in the old world.
3--The moose I could not release on in Maine with my Browning Nomad in 1982. (That was 8 yards away from me)
4--NOT pulling the trigger on a Buffalo in a brass tube scope atop an old black powder Sharps.
Sorry for ramblin, but one can dream.....and you started it. ;)
I would love to go to Africa! The big five, any of the plains game it dosen't even matter. I would just go to watch others hunt around those amazing animals. But yes hunting would be the ultimate.Hey weall can dream can't we.

A never ending hunt. Just go out into the wilderness and hunt till I drop.
Yukon Moose...............trying to collect yourself and make a point blank shot at a huge rutting bull moose.........not sure it could get any better.
It doesn't matter what I would hunt. As long as it is me and my Poppa with plenty of time to enjoy it. OK, how about a float trip in Alaska. That should do it!

Well, I've got to tell you fellas what got me thinking about this, (besides always dreaming of it;) I have recently done some hiking here in Ireland. Man o man, if you could only hunt in this terrain! What beauty! Plus there are domestic sheep all over making daydreams of mountainside stalks ever present in my mind. Here are some pics:

Keep 'em coming fellas!
Anyone else?
I have two Dream Hunts I have always wanted to do.
#1 Yukon moose
#2 Elk anywhere
Sad to say they will probably never come true. Heart condition and diabetes will probably not let me be able to go to the terrain they live. But, I can still dream of it as I stalk hogs and deer.

My dream hunt is Africa, with my wife and daughter. I don't have anything specific I want to shoot, just to be there. My daughter is five now and this year we started an Africa trip saving account with an allotment coming out of my check directly into this account. In 10 years, my daughter should be old enough to really enjoy the experience and we should have the extra cash saved for a 10 day hunt and safari for the 3 of us. There are other hunts that I am planning between now and then, but this will be the big one and we are making sure to plan now, so that it happens.
Big horn sheep
Billy goat
Mountain lion
any hunt that I should be fortunate enough to have the high bid on for the St. Jude auction.
ELk in Colorado..coming true end of Aug. this year. #2. Northern California black bear/Roosevelt elk. #3.Northern California Mulie/ Pronghorn #4. Buffalo #5. Canadian carabou #6 Alaskan moose.. Really just thankful for LoneStar pig stickin.
I definitely think that Elk would be my number one. I've watched several on Tv and it looks amazing.
I Might Add Mine, but it wouldnt be Prudent. Only been Divorced 4 Years. :knothead: :archer:
I dont view my hunts as dreams. I pick something I want to do and work hard to get it. I moved to an area that has lots of animals that I love to hunt(mule deer, elk, bear, mt lion). I also put tags in for sheep and goat. So I save my money for a big hunt every now and then.
I always wanted to bowhunt black bear. I hunted four straight years in Arkansas and North Carolina without drawing my bow on a bear. I leave for British Columbia in two weeks (I was able to get over my personal boycott of Canada,,LOL) End of July we leave for South Africa. This really wasn't a dream; I never thought Africa was possible until I started to get serious about actually GOING off on trips. I will admit to dreaming about Caribou, namely big beautiful open tundra type. In my opinion Caribou are the most beautiful antlered game on Earth.
I've already talked with Mark at BSC, I will leave in September of 2008 probably for Quebec..... I see too many hunters that say "one of these years" until they get too old or too broke to go. Go on trips while you can; you don't get a "do-over"...

I have always dreamed of brown bear and caribou. I may never get a chance to do those though. Lately my dreams have changed to where who i'm hunting with means more than what i'm hunting.
1. My son taking his first whitetail.
2. Hunting Big whitetails somewhere with Curt Cabrera.
3. Hunting something with Joe Coots.
4. Hunting wyoming with Vance Brewer.

My dream hunts are five minutes away. Alone or with family. October 1st with green leaves and 70 degrees, to January 1st and 10 degrees and snow.
