I want to try some CX shafts out. I've been reading alot using the search but still havn't decided on a size.
I'm shooting a Toelke whip LB. 54lbs @ 29". I usually leave my arrows full length. I want to add the 100 grain brass insert with a 125-150 grain head.
Would the 250s work or should I bump up a size?

Rebel or Terminator 45-60 would be just the ticket. Check their spine chart to see if they are the same as the 250s. I don't shoot the Heritage shafts. The 250s would the the stiffest you should go.
I see that Cabela's has the terminator shafts on sale. According to the chart 52-63 lbs @ 32" I should be shooting the 60-75. Only problem is the 45-60s are the only ones on sale. Do you think the 45-60s would be to weak with the 225 grains up front?

great prices and very knowlegable about the cx heritage line..... I love the cx150..... You can usually pick up the 250s used on trad gang... I think the 250s are typically too stiff for traditional bows.. You can use the goldtip thread in weight system on the cx shafts.. You use a long allen wrench and thread weight from the nock end down into the insert.. I think this is the only way to go.. It allows you to play all you want with point weight. Talk to John.. youll be glad you did..
I shoot a BW PLIII longbow...54# @ 28", I draw 28". I started out with the 250's and thought I had them bare shafting good cut to 30", but later found the 150's to be a better choice for me. They shoot very straight with/without fletching, and I can tell by the sound they are actually hitting harder than the 250
s simply because they are flying straighter (my opinion). I shoot the 150's cut to 29", 100gr. brass insert, 160gr. grizzly. The arrow ends up right around 595 gr. I think they would be a better place to start but you can order the test kit from 3rivers and try it out your self.

I've been shooting the CX250 for 5 years now out of my #55 Tomahawk and about a dozen other bows that I own. 29", 50 grain brass insert 175 grain point. I doubt that 150's at full length with 100 grain brass insert are going to fly that well for you. If you have your heart set on a cx150 start out with the alum insert and weight tubes to get up to that 600 grain mark. The 3R test kits are a real smart idea too, then you can test all 3 sizes. dino
I'm not really set on the 150's. I like the 250 for the higher gpi.

Great place for CX Heritage information is John and SipseyRiver in Alabama, he will actually sell single shafts of the CX150's and CX250's so you can try out each...
I doubt the 45/60's would be weak. I've used them with as much as 325gr. up front with no problems from 55@29 bows.
the 250 is only 1 grain per inch heavier.. I'd be more worried about getting them to fly true...You may have to beef up the point.. which will give you all kinds of weight.. good luck
If left full length ya may get away with the 250s and what ya want, it depends on how far your bow is cut past center. If it is an 1/8" before center or just cut to center the 150s would be the choice. Ya can really load up carbons on the point weight as they recover real quick. If it is 3/16th past center ya could go with the 250s but ya may need to 275 or more up front. Shawn
Full length I would think the 250's would work, but listen to Shawn he is usually right on.
Well I'm shooting a Whip longbow that is cut to center. The local pro shop will let me try one arrow out since I don't cut the shafts shorter than 30". I go check them out and see if they carry cx.
