I think there is a problem with this Poll.  One can not see the results unless you vote.  Therefore, someone who has never hunted these areas may vote if they what to see the results.  This would make the poll invalid.

Or am I missing something???

atlanta is in north michigan,  dansville is central southern and flat river is mid west michigan

We can only hope you vote only because you plan on coming. And have a wish to hunt that location. If you don't plan on coming, DON'T VOTE. Any poll can be skewed by non participents. WOW that participents word worked me over for a few minutes.

I am going to try and attend but won't vote as I don't know anything about the areas, I'll count on those with knowledge to pick the location

I haven't voted because I don't have a preference, but curiosity is getting the better of me.  How about a current 'poll results' report for the non-voters who plan on attending?

I feel what your saying, just the thought of sharing a camp. With other tradganger trad shooters is almost more than a sole can take. Even if we don't harvest a deer, we are gunna have a bunch of fun!    With some big old  :campfire: 's and some great time together! I think this just may grow into something awhole lot bigger than 23. Then again it will be there loss on a great weekend. For those that don't mark there calender and show up!
And I am more than willing to share my campfire to cook over!

For everyone, rumor has it that our licence fees will increase shortly! HIGHLY Fees at this time are the same as last year. You may want to buy yours ASAP, as it soulds like if they do the increase it will be at once. THATS NOT FAIR, BUT I WOULD NOT CHANCE IT. If your going to buy them anyway. At this time, you guys that live here should know your fees.
Non Resident small game is 3-day $30.00
Non Resident Archery Deer is $138.00 good for either sex
Non Resident Combo Deer $276.00  2 tags good for 2 bucks one with antler restrictions 4 point or better one side or one of each sex with archery.
For license info go to  WWW.michigan.gov/dnr (http://www.michigan.gov/dnr)  hopefully the moderators will accept this off website.

Also BEAR APPLICATITIONS are going on now!

          Bought my tags today!

I could snail mail topo maps of the area if anyone wants them..

Arwin. can you give me the closes town to where we'll be?
Title: Re: Michigan Bow Camp, Where?
Post by: Arwin on April 20, 2007, 09:07:00 PM
Atlanta is the closest town. It's tiny! I have a camp spot in mind but we could also meet up at the local grocery and go from there.

All right, I'm trying to look up the area now, but I can't find it. Is there an Atlanta SGA, or is this just the Pigeon River State forrest? If so where abouts are we looking to do this? I'm just trying to look up topo maps on terraserver and can't get a good map without a good idea of where it is.

Thanks, Photog

Take 32 east off 75 to where 33 runs north. Atlanta is a town where 33 and 32 meet. There is a ton of state forest north of that town and you can camp on it. I've been up there a couple times in the last 4 years and it's a big place. The roads/orv trails that we are going to drive in on are off 33 north.

Arwin, Jason & Rob and any one else as far as that goes, maybe we could head up that way about mushroom time and take our fishing gear and scout the area out? What sayest you?

Guys,
It sounds like a great trip, and it may work for me, I have to check my football schedule.  I coach my sons team and assume we will have a game on saturday.  I'll keep an eye on this thread and see what happens.

Please keep me posted as well, I should be able to make it as well. I shot a beautiful 7X8 bull elk near Vienna Corners in 1994. Love to be around the elk and the deer!

I just hate driving down through Chicago !!

Formerbutcher,

You could always go north through Wisconsin and travel through the U.P. Then just take the Mackinaw bridge south and you are only an hour away! You would have some incredibly beautiful scenery on the way as well...

I'd love to go up during the week in August to scout. If we have the area narrowed down could someone send me the specifics so I could make a scouting trip or two? Thanks
