Hello Guys, How many shoot T/D bows and what kind do you have thanks.
Cody
A couple Black Widows and a Morrison and a Quillon , I find they are so much easier to travel with , I have an older aluminum compound bow case thay can hold 2 takedown bows about 2 and 1/2 dozen arrows and still have room for some clothes . By the way did you ever get hooked up with some fish arrows ? Fred
This is my latest takedown project...

have two Widows that, unfortunately, aren't getting much use, and 4 Hill sleeve take downs. I really like the sleeve take downs... nothing could be simpler. In fact, it looks like Widow has gone to a variation of it in their new system. Travel is the issue... not a problem with the minivan, but try getting two peopls, some gear and a few longbows into a Geo Metro!
Here's a pic of my travel setup:

That's a Hill and a Widow and I can get a dozen arrows in the case. The case is a standard $30 plastic arrow case, generally available at most archery shops.
Dick in Seattle
I have 3 Fred Bear t/d recurves and 2 St. Charles longbows. I love the t/d's; in fact I made some t/d arrows that I plan on hunting with this coming season.
3 Bighorns and a Rivers Edge....that I'd like to trade for another Bighorn.
Harold Couch TD LB, 45#@28" Took it to Ga for turkey...didnt get a shot but it traveled like a champ and shoots great too.
If anyone knows specifics on these bows....please PM me. Thanks.
Dale Stahl TD recurve 53#@28". great shooting bow.
mikuta td recurve, my first td bow
John Jordan Stalker TD recurve 54@28".Its an awesome shooter.
Wes Wallace Mentor 60# @ 28". Pure and simple!
I have a Black Widow ma III. Much easier to travel with. Buck
i have a widow psav. takedowns have larger risers. the heavy riser improves my accuracy.
Black Widow, Bear B Handles, Bruin WoodMaster. Take downs fit better in a bush plane.

I have some old ones too that are fun to shoot from time to time.....
I have a Big Horn T/D recurve 70# @27". Planning to buy a Acadian Three Stick Tree stick longbow.
Looks nice and Tim was more helpful than i had expected on the phone!!
I dont own any store bought takedowns (or any store bought bows at all for that matter), but I've built a few. Here are two that I happen to have pics of on photobucket:
My sleeved takedown hickory recurve:

My three piece red oak takedown:

Bob Lee T/D hunter 44#@60, I just love his bows!
I shoot a Fox sleeved takedown longbow & a sleeved takedown Fox Breed. Love them. Frank
A Ballistick recurve TD and a Treadway long bow. Prefer the single piece but needed something for the ease of traveling.
Robertson Vision Falcon Creation
Schafer Silvertip
Cari-Bow Silver Fox
Blacktail Elite VL
Danny
I hunt with a Robertson Overdrive TD, a Thunderstick TD, and I have a Selway Lil' Shooter TD. In recurves I have a Shawn Peterson TD that my son Chase hunts with and I have a Zipper and a Schafer Silver Ghost. The Schafer is my bowfishing rig. It never gets taken apart and in fact has been strung for over 10 years. If one does any air travelling at all, a take down is a must.
Now if I could just find a bow case that fits a recurve and a longbow and a couple dozen arrows, and is indestructible, I would have it made.
Adcock ACS CX 64" 49#@28" 3-piece takedown. By far the best bow I have ever shot or owned. Although it is a 3-piece, I rarely take it down. Even when I travel, I just unstring it, remove the strap on quiver and put it in a tube case. i do like the extra weight of the 3-pieces though.
A Morrison,Quinn and Adcock among several others that I have built over the years.I hope to have a 2 piece 21st Century if I can ever find one to saw in half. :)
Unless I've missed it, I haven't seen any Pronghorn take downs on here yet. It's a longbow that takes down into 3 pieces.
Very nice bow!
58" PSA X,54#@28"

A Palmer,Morrison and Jeffery recurves and a Flatlander longbow. The Palmer is my favorite "Plain Jane" 57# @30".I have a couple of sets of limbs for the Jeffery and Morrison.LOOking for another set for the Palmer. I have always liked the look and feel of a three piece takedown. Ben
FB Take-Down A riser 50#
FB Take Down B riser 45#
BlackWidow PSA V 53#
I shoot a 58" Jeffery, 53# @ 28", and a 62" Wes Wallace, 50# @ 28". Just ordered a 64" longbow from Wes, should be here in August, can't wait.
Boder Black Douglas "Swift." I love the way the limbs are recessed in to the riser rather than tacked on as an afterthought. Black Widow does the same thing in a different way.
Black Widow psa II 49# two weeks from now going to order longbow from turkeycreek longbows. can't wait.
ishiwannabe, what do you want to know about the harold couch bow ???? i built is so pm me if you want any info... thanks harold
I shoot a Bingham T/D longbow I just built and I'm absoultely in love with it! My groups have never been better. It draws 70 lbs @ 28". It shoots my full length, 595 grain 35/55's like a dream. I'm very pleased with it.
I shoot a PSE Talon 62" 50#@ 28 . It is the bow on top in this pic.
Black Widow PMA-V and a Massie Model M on the recurve side. Navjo Apache and a Massie Longhorn on the long bow side. Flying with a full length bow, especially a longbow, is just asking for trouble.

Yesterday I dusted off my t/d Fedora 560. Its a 64" recurve custom made for me back in 2000. I've used it for many seasons off and on. Placed high in tournaments with light limbs 43#, and killed a P&Y qualifyer (never entered) black bear in 03 with it. I've decided it will be my hunting bow this season for deer.
Two Herters takedown's circa 1972 and 1974

Incredible Bows!!!
1975/76 Bear Mag Riser Takedown - still in original box with original paperwork. B Mag #1 Limbs 52#'s 60" AMO
I buy mostly TD because flying is much easier, when I came back home from the USA I carry, sometime, as much as 6/10 td bows when with just a single one piece could be a great problem. I own more than 30 bows still looking for new ones. PLEASE STOP ME!!!!!!
I have three:
Fedora 560 TD Custom Hunter
Fedora 560 TD Tournament
Fedora Xtreme TD
4 Bighorn T/D's., 1 Bears Paw T/D longbow, and a Schafer T/D longbow on the way.

Bears, Widows, and Pronghorns. Wouldn't mind a Morrison takedown either. And I'd like to get a set of RER limbs for my bears as well.
I have a Hornes ridgerunner TD LH
I have a PSE Impala that was my first trad bow and it is a take down. Started shooting it this past summer and got 2 deer with it in October. It's not a custom bow but it shoots well.
I have a Sweptwing with a set of 53# limbs and a set of 42# limbs. Great shooting bow.
Looking to add a Widow Recurve and a Tomahawk longbow. Both takedowns.
I'm very partial to TD bows. So much easier to travel with. I'm now the proud owner of three Massie "Longhorn" takedowns,; a Massie Model "M" TD recurve; and a Black Widow PMA-V TD recurve. It is just to differcult to fly with your equipment today without having TD bows. Course when hunting locally, I grab whatever bow I'm using that hunting season. This year (2008) it was my 66" one piece Howard Hill "Wild Boar".
5 Bear T/D handles(1 A,3 B's and 1 C and 7 sets of limbs. 1 herters with both wood and metal handles.
