There were rumors a book was being drafted about Paul Schafer...I seem to recall it was being written by Bob Windauer (the father of Dave who runs Schafer Bows). Has anybody heard anymore about it? I hope it's true and forthcoming!!!
I haven't heard anything but will one of the first in line to purchase the book if it does come out
I believe the rumor to be true, but I have no idea of Bob's scheduled release date...????
Remember something about that earlier, but haven't heard anything further about it.
Hopefully it will come to pass.
Lots of folks would love to read that book.
Can't wait! Should be an awesome read.
It would (will) definately be a great book. I hope it does come about!
Any recent info???
Bob,
I spoke to Dave & Beth before Christmas. He told me his Father is still working on the book.
Good to hear!!!
That would definately at the top of my list. I would love to read about him.
I'd want one with antler corners!
Paul was a man of very few words. I only spoke with him several times, but feel very privileged to have done so. A book on this guy is tops on my want list.
Here I thought you were referring to Paul Schaefer's "Book Adirondack Cabin Country".
I've been hoping that a book would be written about Paul. I have always be in awe of his accomplishments. I'm looking forward to reading his story....Greg
Put me down for one !
Keep us posted. That would be great
I had not heard that before, but would love to read it.
Ladies and Gentelman.. There has been an update on the Paul Schafer book. I spoke to Bob over the weekend and he wanted me to pass along an update on the much anticipated release of the Paul Schafer book.
The Paul Schafer book that has been carefully crafted by Bob Windauer is close to being finished. The text is done and Bob is working diligently on the cover along with other images that are being integrated throughout the book. Bob gave me the green light to share this update just this morning and I can tell you the Schafer book will be well worth the wait. I have had the opportunity to read through it, it's truly an amazing read. Bob has done an amazing job writing this book, stand by for a release date!
This is a awesome news. I can't still believe that it is going to be released!
I am sure it worths the wait.
We need an update when the book is available....!

Great news!! I wanted to update this thread about the Paul Schafer book by Bob Windauer. I spoke to Bob this evening on the phone and he informed me that he is close to having the book finished and ready to print. I am expecting the book will be printed and released in the next month or two. Once they are printed, this thread will be updated on where to purchase a copy. This book has been in the works for a number of years, the excerpts I have read I can tell you it will be worth the wait.
:clapper:
Amen, long desired
Thread on another bow site that has been running for more than a year. Last post couple days ago said it was soon to be available. I'm all in!!!
been waiting 15 years for this book, as soon as the ink dries I'll be ordering 2!
I really look forward to a copy of the book I have asked beth Windauer about it a handful of times over the past few years !!!
I will be in line myself to order one :archer2:
I'm sure this will be a grand read. I'll be waiting to make my purchase.
me too!!!!
Looking forward to a great read.
SWEEEEEET
This is great news...I just reread Barry Wensel's story on Paul from Bowhunter magazine in '86, or maybe '87? Also the various tributes after he died.
I've told this story before, but many years ago my wife and I visited Paul at his home near Kalispell. He was gracious and friendly. My wife afterwards said she had never seen me so quiet and nervous. Heck, I had memorized that Bowhunter article and I was talking to the man himself.
Two copies are headed my way once they are available. Better make that three!
I just want one.
I want one to.
I just read the threads on the main board about Mr. Schafer and it brings it all back. If these snippets are so inspiring, what will the book do? Surely, it will inspire another generation.
I'm sure this will be a GREAT read.
been waiting for this for years...and so glad Bob Windauer was able to finish it and now have it at the printers with a Summer release. Cant wait!!!!
Im in. Sign me up!!
I would like 2 copies.
Yep... I too have been waiting on these for the same time as many others it seems.
Cheers, AK.
That will be awesome!

Ordered two copies....excited to read them.
Got the books...wonderful to see his story finally told. Did I miss whatever happened to his son Hunter? There were updates on the rest of the family and wondered whatever happened to Hunter. Nothing specific, just something like he's married and happy living out west would have been enough.
Have had the book for months and read it twice. Great book and really accurate as I had the privilege of living in Great Falls during a lot of the material and knew a bunch of the people mentioned.
