Has anyone used ramin wood for arrow shaft material, is it a good choice for arrow wood?
For the price, they can't be beat. I get mine from Menards. I usually buy a couple of handfuls of the straightest 3/8 in., take them home and sort by spine then weight. My experience has been pretty good. They are fairly tough and usually heavy. Just a couple of weeks ago I found one that a squirrel dodged and was lost through fall and winter. I checked it out, sanded it smooth and I am still using it for stumping.
stump hunter how do they spine out?
check american wood crafters birch dowels...100 for 25.00. Scattershot is the man with all the info on spine.. contact him or look up some previous posts... good luck..

They are on the heavy side. My last batch averaged between 75-80 to 85-90. With 69# @ 31.5in. they do pretty good.
