G'day all,
Well again I found myself dreaming on Jack's website looking at all the fine artwork. One of these days I'm planning on placing an order just to have one on my wall. I'd like a few, but the mounting cost would have me in a death grip from my dear wife...!
Anways, I just thought I see what TradGnagers had any of his works on your den walls?
My favorite is "In Thanksgiving". How about you?
is work is amazing! you might also want to check out Robert Griffing, his work is on par with Jacks. check out " Brothers Of The Forest " on Roberts site.
One of my favorite artist!!!!!!!
Jack is my favorite artist. I have some of his work and hope to get more. His IBO series is my favorite but all his work is top shelf.
Bill
I bought the living off the land series (I have 4 hanging on the walls around me now. I made a rule when I bought them I wouldn't frame them until I shot what was in the picture. Then I put something for the hunt in the framing. A feather an arrow ect.. My favorite is either whitetail ambush or the 1st turkey one "Native hunters".
1 problem though. These signed and numbered get their value and increase in value from being limited in number. A few years ago Jack bought a machine to make and sell smaller versions of all the prints he's made. It has definatly affected the value of the first ones, like mine . I was told by those in the art collecting world this is a big NoNo. You can see the climb in value stopped when these cheaper versions started flooding the market. So if your buying for art investment, forget it. It only hurt guys like me who enjoyed watching my prints go up in value. I am sure everyone else likes the less expensive costs. I still like the prints, he has some really neat hunt scenario's.
My wife got me the one called "In Thanksgiving" for Christmas. I liked it so much she bought me three more of the Native American series with turkeys in them. Just looking at them puts you there !!
Jack's work is top shelf for sure. I met him and is young son a couple of years ago at a local Rendezvous near Buffalo NY. We shot a round of 3D's together and chewed the fat for awhile.
He is a great guy to talk to and very down to earth.
I have 3.
Whitetail Ambush
Native Hunters
Fierece Opponent
I cant really aford the big ones, so I get the Framed Miniatures, one a year, they look great in my living room. Jack is an outstanding artist
You guys would DROOL over Ron LaClairs workshop. He has several of Jacks prints, as well as other Native American and Mountain Man paintings.
Yeah, I enjoy a different one every month.
I bought the calendar for 2007.
Lookin'at Indian, turkeys, and noticed a rabbit in the background. ;)
Dad and i were able to a great deal on a full size version of "the guardian" from our local NWTF banquet last year. it has been hanging in our living room ever since. everytime i look at it i cant help but hope i can get some support like that this May...
I'm a fan of "The Guardian" as well.
How did I know you'd have some of his works Ken.... :wavey:
I took a course in framing at a local community center, framing a few prints that I had lying around in the process. It cost a lot less than having it done!
Killder~framed again!
Marion Anderson is another great one. Ron actually "posed' for one of her mountainman prints. I'm still looking for one. I have three others on my cabin walls. Also one from Jack. I traded him an osage selfbow for it at one of the RMEF shows. It hangs over our log bed. Awesome!
DougS- good point. I have the entire series, plus others and once the small prints came out, I basically stopped buying them. I loved watching the price go up, but have not seen an increase in some time. I thought that was a bad business move and I did not like to see it, but I guess I would do it to if it meant selling pictures....... I sure like his work though.......
I have the "Woodland Encounter" that I would be interested in trading for one of his other prints.
If anyone is interested, just send me a pm or email me indianabowhunter@mchsi.com
Thanks, Robert
My wife bought me "Instinctive Aim" about ten
years ago. I love Jack's work, just wish I
could fill the walls with it.
Al, you might want to consider his miniatures.
Hey Jim, I have Marian Anderson's "Saving Powder" but I did not know that Ron posed. I have noticed a resemblence.
ethan, the one that I'm talking about is called "longhunter"
All beautiful work. You might also like the works of Paul Calle.
I purchased Native Hunters...The Hunt Continues a few years ago after bidding on it at an NWTF auction but not getting it as it went for $1,000! Jack has donated several painting the the United Bowhunters of PA to which I used to belong. He and Marian are a generous couple.
His artwork is always popular at the United Bowhunters of Illinois banquet. His company is great to deal with, we order from him every year.
I got _hand is faster than the eye_ and six tom turkey fans and breads on my wall.

wow, just checked out Marian's site, awesome work!!
At our local 2007 NWTF banquet, my fiance, Edsel, got "The Gifts of Freedom", a very moving painting.
Those banquets are a great place to get Jack Paluh and other very good artist's paintings. We usually can buy artwork there for less than half of what costs in a gallery or website, and it supports the NWTF.
