She's holding up pretty well if I keep the pressure below 60#
(http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t137/storeylh/Picture_0018.jpg)
but she starts complaining (slight pop) at that pressure,
(http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t137/storeylh/Picture_0017.jpg)
so I'm holding around 51#, which at this stage is at 24";
(http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t137/storeylh/Picture_0016.jpg)
so I need to gain about 2", which means I need to lose about 5 or 6#. So while I was taking a; uh, I mean, while I was in some deep thought, I had an idea to strengthen the cracked riser/fade/ arrow strike-plate area. I had thought to drill a well in that area about 1/8" diameter and about 7/8" deep and fill it with a mixture of shavings & Titebond III; but my new idea was to fill it with a toothpick/shaving/Titebond mix to give it MORE strength in the linear direction of the most stress. Will that work better??
It looks to me like she is bending into that glued on handle??? That might be the popping noise. Check it carefully, if the glue lets go all the way, she will likely bust at the narrowed handle. Popping noises are never good, BTW. Your only likely fix is to lower the weight.
To lose weight, simply draw it to weight and make sure tiller is good. It looks fine to me except the lower limb could use a little extra work. Then scrape equal amounts from each limb. I usually count 10 scrapes at a time and then exercise the bow a lot. At least 30 full weight draws. I like to leave about 5#s in it for break in and finish.
I'm new at this but it looks to me like its bending to much at the fades and not enough at mid limb but like I said I'm new at this
