Boy he lost some color in the wattles when the snow came. LOL
Your killing us!
We leave for our hunt this coming Friday but spent all night running around the house packing last night. My wife thinks were crazy and says well pack and unpack atleast four more time before we leave. Shes right!
Be nice if he hung around for a while.
very nice, keeping everybody all fired up. if i didnt know better i would say the bird in that last pic was posing for you.
Mickey, If you can get that one you can pin the beard on the back of your cap so folks will think you have a ponytail! d:^) Pat
He looks to have a nice set of hooks on him also.
The weather has been nuts here . A friend took his boys to Kentucky for the youth seasonthis ,I hope they dressed warm .
Welcome to our world Mickey, eight inches of heavy wet stuff two days ago, trees and powerlines down everywhere, but the birds were still out at my buddies place.
David
Great pics that first one looks like a horses tail
Nice pics again Mickey. This weather is nuts. I went to the Geauga Bowmen shoot today. Left my place and within 45mins. north there was 8 inches of snow. We shot in a steady snowfall all day. It was beautiful, but strange!!
Kenny
Yes, my beard always gets longer in springtime!
WOW what a rope on that guy !! Saw a big guy strutting in the snow Thursday. Wish I had the camera.
Sweet.
My prediction is the tom will pisadear the day before the season opens but you'll see him everyday before that.
Yea Curtis he was around all day today but if history is anything he will dissappear Monday ( exactly 2 weeks before season comes in.
He sure likes posing for the camera. Is that a horse tail strapped on it's breast? LOL All kidding aside, you sure get some nice wildlife in your yard.
Mick
Took a walk yesterday afternoon. Lotsa tracks down by the crick (creek for you city boys) but no birds in the yard.
Jerry here's a pic from today..snow has already melted off. Man this guy has a rope! "Horse's Tail" might make a good name for him.
Steve ya gonna set a blind by the crick and get after em with yer widder?

Horse Tail
Yup, that is a one rope!! My bro' watched a Tom breed a hen today in the yard and guys wonder why it is a little harder to kill birds up north a bit, we do not open until May 1st. Nice Pics buddy!! Shawn
I can't get over how much vegetation you have already. In NY we have near zero, nice pics. By the way that's a tube!
Nice pics as usual lil buddy! I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that one of those gobblers will stick around just long enough for you or Di to kill him.
wow!!! real nice looking birds they dont look like that over here. over here they look like somthing the cat draged in. LOL!! :campfire:
I'd love to see some of those picture put on targets. Neat stuff!
Mickey,
your pictures are always awesome and inspiring as i love photography and turkeys especially. could you please post a pic on the photography forum and tell us about your camera, lens and set up? maybe give us a few tips on how to get such awesome pic's. the last pic of the ole boss strutting is breathtaking!! that for sure is a boss gobbler!
Ken it's all camera, it's nothing I'm doing. The camera is a Fuji Finepix S5200 digital with 10X zoom. It takes 5 megapixel pictures and with the memory card on low res will take several hundred pics. I can tell you to take better pics with more contrast to take pics early morning or early evening when the sun is not so bright. That's about all I know about taking pictures.
Oh and take a lot, some of them will come out good. LOL
You had me worried for a minute there Mickey! :scared: I read the title "Huge beard and big weather changes" and I was worried that you were going for the "LaClair" look and you wanted to know how the weather would affect your beard(ice,snow,rain...)! :smileystooges:
I thought he was going to blame the weather on LaClair---say that Ron had shaved or something.
Mick
That is my plan exactly. This afternoon I'm going to build one and then we'll see what walks by on opening day.
Mickey, If I make my imfamous pork tenderloin(Once or twice during) AND eat a record number of HDFH (at Cloverdale) can I come hunt turkeys with you someday?
