My bow is a 64" reflex...how long do i need to make my string???

61" string
thank you
I like the easy questions. LOL You're welcome.
depends on if it is a longbow or recurve. Normally it is three inches less than AMO for longbow and 4" less than AMO for recurve. David nailed it as I assume since you said "reflex" that your bow is a longbow. The above is just a guide though, I have seen bows take longer strings and shorter strings than the guide.
Danny
well i didnt know that a reflex was a long bow? i guess i learn something new every day....thanks yall
ok now i have my string made...i use a jib and it turned out being 60 1/4" long....will it stretch into the last 3/4 of an inch.?
Yes it will ;)
o good...thank you very much.
one more question...how do i stretch a bow string...do i just stretch it till its to the length i need? the dvd didnt cover that well...
thank you
pintail
Put the string on the bow , then put the bow on your lap while sitting down , with the back of the bow on your lap and push down on the limb tips and this will stretch the string a bit , then go shoot it till the string stops stretching . This may take 50-100 arrows .
now i have a question about servings....sorry im am posting these as i think of them. When i am making my long tillering string, will monofiliment fishing line work for serving? I thought i saw someone say once that itwould work in a pinch.
thanks
Pintail
Is this for the blank you built? If so, make it 2" shorter not 3".
Mike
ok thanks...
ok yall it came out a lil short...will it be ok if i stretch it over night? or will it stretch it too much...the material is 450+. I have it hung up w/ a monkey wrench for weight.
Thanks for the help.
Pintail
450 ain't gonna stretch much at all. It's about the lowest stretch bow string material there is :bigsmyl: ...Van
