Title: Trad gang sure put a smile on my face!
Post by: Mr.Vic on April 06, 2007, 12:46:00 PM
Some of you know my wife of twenty six years left me a few weeks back to seek a better life with more material items and success in it. I just want to say since i have been a member here i have met no better people on this earth, and made some great friends thorough this site. Next week i will no longer have the computor to visit with many of you. For how long? i don't know. But hope within the year to hook back up and reconnect with you. I'm headed for the cabin in the woods along a nice river and live the simple life with nature and beauty and carry my many sticks made or traded for with friends on this site. I will make it to the post office once in a while so if you need my addy for something unfinished PM me and i will send it. I hope this site continues to bring joy in peoples souls like it did me. Happy hunting Boys and girls and "Walk in beauty."                                Mato Cante

Mr. Vic,

I sure have enjoyed pm'ing with a fellow Iowegian Tradganger.  And man, what a bummer you're going through.  I can't imagine the stress and grief. I'll definitely keep you in my prayers, bro.

You will really be missed on this forum.  Bet you I'm not the only one that has appreciated your contributions to the forum.  Hope you can take LeRoy up on his offer of the computer.  And if that doesn't work you can always get a free gmail or hotmail email account that you can check out at your library.

Chin up bro, and I hope to see you soon.  I'll be pm'ing you.

mato cante,

sounds like you are doing what i would do in your situation, going to the source.  (and the best thing we can all do when things turn upside down)  head into the forest, sit on the mother, find our balance.  (and of course fling some arrows)  :)   my heart goes out to you and i'll miss seeing your posts and your artwork on the tradgang.  this certainly is a good group of folks, you are right about that.

blessing on your journey,

enjoy the day,

It truly is unfortunate when after so many years together people find different paths in life and go seperate ways.  I haven't been there, and can't pretend to offer guidance, but it sounds as if you know what path you must take for your own happiness.  Often times I have seen people forced to change into something they don't want to be, and that never works out in the end anyway.  Better for you to follow your heart and move forward as best you can.  I am certain there is great sadness during the process, pray that it will pass for you, and hope that you will discover true joy and love in the future.  Good luck my friend.

Vic,

I have never talked with you, but I have enjoyed reading your posts. Hang in there. I know when I was first divorced, the first thing I wanted to do was crawl in a hole and disappear. Sounds like you have a better place to hide. I found that my friends became more important then ever. It sounds like you have many close friends on this site, that want to be there for you. For me talking about it really helped  put it all into perspective and to heal. That's what real friends do.

I would have to have my computer though to maintain contact whith "folks" - like I love to do. To each his own and may yours (whatever it turns out to be) be best for you.

Misu,
what could i possibly say to someone that has helped me so much and guided me with so many things without ever meeting in person. PILAMAYAYE MITAYA MISU!!!! you are a man of great vision and without your thoughts and wisdom on some of the lessons that were taught to me by the Creator i would not have been able to understand them, yet when you thought about them it became clear. you have taught me so much especially that i am not alone in thoughts and feelings about a better way of life, a simpler way of life that some many will never understand and over look on a daily basis. a great thrill in life to many is the all mighty dollor yet to you and i it is the sound of a babbling brooke, the feel of the wind in your face, the song of the cardnial, the howl of the coyote, i could go on and on but i don't need to as we both understand. i wish you well at the cabin and i hope you can find yourself and see yourself as i see you, a great friend, a strong man, one with a heart of a bear. we need not computer nor phone to stray in touch as  flight of feather and song of four legged will carry our messages as they have before. i despise the modern world for what it has become but yet without it i could not have meet you, or this i am gratefull. i look very foward to the fall when i can share my beloved Adiorondacks with you and share a pipe on the ridge. i will send smoke in your honor. take care Mato Cante, Mitawa Misu!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vic,

I am truly sorry to hear of what you are going through, like many here I think of you each time I walk by your gift, I feel fortunate to have met you though this site.

You say, "Trad Gang sure put a smile on my face!"

I submit that you put many more smiles on the faces of people that you have touched here.

Don't be gone long my friend, it just would not be right.

Take care, and good luck,
David

Vic my friend it saddens me to hear your life is in so much turmoil, but in 3 short weeks I'll be there and we can tip more than a few to the gods of women chasin',big hooters, and rich widows! I'll bring my bow form, heat strips and a few tools, so you can build that "freedom" bow we've been talking about, and then check out some of those giant turkeys that seem to be popping up in your backyard.
Vic you have went above and beyond in helping me get through my rough times and I'll never forget that, you have made a difference my friend, not just in my life but in many others as well, as witnessed by these three pages of love sent your way, the storm won't last long my friend, and if it does you have a shoulder to lean on here, and it will always be here no matter what happens.
Guys, in 3 weeks I'll be heading from N/E Indiana through Illinois and on to Iowa to visit with Vic for a while, and I'd be more than happy to pick up and deliver anything you may have for him, pm me if you have anything for our most generous brother....................Steve

PS. Vic, I'll bring some bison hide too, maybe we can build you a "freedom" quiver to go along with that purdy bow!!

We are all family here on TG and when one brother or sister hurts we all share in that pain to some degree. So may peace and the Creator be with you and I pray for you that it may be so. God Bless.

hey ol buddy well i been talking to you through this whole ordeal with you while it unfolded and its a truely bad situation for anyone to have to go through . I never understood how  someone can  take vows to death do them part and go through such a long time period 25+ years and just leave someone . In a way i think its cowardly way not to have to deal with reality  and the easy way around a little rough times  .which always can get better with time but alot of people dont want to put forth the effort to make it through to the better times . I prey I never go through this beleive me denise has dealt with alot in our short marriage time but we're to hard headed to give up . ( hope i aint jinxed myself dangit) . vic you know your welcome down here and were looking forward to you gettting down here to ky this summer so denise can aggravate you even more .your more like my brother than a freind and we'll be here for ya whenever you need us . WOW. Thanks fellow's your words of encouragment they mean a lot to me. I ain't one to sit an whine about something so it took me a few days to get over losing a good women. I read once where life is a circle and within that circle is little circles and yet within that circles. So i know this isn't the end of the world but a new beginning in a different direction on my path in lfe. I have told Ken this, that the worst thing about this change is all the material things involved. They weigh me down thinking about what to do with them and why did i get bogged down in life with these material things. The last few days IN my packing of things I relized more than ever there is more to life than purchased items. The more i packed the more i gave away to those who could use it or think they needed it. After the last of the stuff loaded today i feel reborn. And a whole new world is out there for me. This will be my last night on the site for a while i did find out i can use my daughters computor any time i feel like it but she lives a ways away. So be far and few between contact. I have my wood shop set up in two different locations so i can fix ya up shakes. PM me your addy (tonight). As my last word on the thread. I thank you for the words and remember there is more to life than money, material things, and chasing a dream of success. It comes at a price my friends.......Mr Vic
