I hunt 95% whitetail and about 5% hog. I shoot Eclipse and Grizzly broadheads. Is this combination lethal enough? Also what kind of travel distance and blood trail can I expect, if put through the boiler with these heads?
DUDE,,, That is enough, you should blow right through a whitetail on that set up. Just keep'em sharp and place it in the bread basket. Thats 10.6 grains per pound. Cool,,
Thats plenty for those animals and as far as blood trails and distance, well if you do your part the will wide and short mostly.
I Second Whitebuffalo. You might re-read Dr. Ashby on broadhead performance. His conclusions co-incide with mine, as to broadhead design. However, I won't be throwing out my Howard Hill heads. Your weight per pound is quite adequate, and, if you keep them sharp, your blood trails should be fairly short.
Would I benefit by shooting the Eclipse 4-blade?
Your good to go-Personally I would stick with two blades.

Yep, if you place them in the vitals. Way too many variables to guess blood trail and travel after hit....
I agree, enuff bow for the both of them. I really like the 160grn snuffers, but that's Me
