just got my new recurve, have had it for a week, but today, I heard a pop when I drew the bow back just a few inches, drew it again, the pop was heard again, what could it be?limb twists?, i bought the bow from mjc on this site, he told me that the bow was only shot a few times and I believe him,I think that there is something that I'm doing wrong, it is a takedown, could it be the bolts?
how do you spot limb twists, are they obvious or do you have to look hard for them?
Make sure the bow is put together firmly... not too tight, though! Just snugged up is about right.
The other thing might be string wax sticking to the limb where it lays against the recurve. A little chapstick will cure that.
I have also heard little pops I believe coming from the pins "creaking". I put a little string wax on the pins and it helped.
On one bow, I cut pieces of felt and inserted between limb and riser for the ultimate in quiet.

thanks, but I think I might see a twist in the limb, not sure, how can I tell I have a bad twist, can it be fixed?
If you just "think" you see a twist in the limb you might be able to correct it by cold twisting by hand in the opposite direction.
If you defineately see a twist, heat it up under the faucet and twist to correct. Hold in place (overcorrected) and run cold water over it to "set" the correction.
If it's worth worrying about, you should be able to measure it with a small ruler. Put a mark on the string with a pen where the string touches the recurve. Now measure from the sides to the string at the mark... it should be the same on both sides.
