Gentry

I know nothing about alum or carbon, sorry.

I have a 48# @ 27", 64" Coup Stick. I shoot cedar and sitka spruce in either 45-50# or 50-55# equally well.

They sure are nice bows! Good luck.

Dave

Gentry, a friend of mine has a Thunderhorn that is 60# at 29", and he was having trouble with some carbonwood 4000 arrows that had a kick to them.  I let him try an Axis 400 that I had just built up for a hog hunt, and they weighed 620 with a 125 Woodsman, 100 grain steel adapter, 100 grain brass insert and three fletch.  They flew as good or better than anything he has tried yet, including his 2020 aluminums.  He didn't have his carbonwoods set up with much weight on the front, so that may be the problem.  My Axis arrow is 30.5 bop.

Why not call or e Duane, and get it from the horse's mouth? He had carbons for test shooting his bows at the Trad Expo West -- I shot them through the 55# x 28 Heartstopper I bought and they were perfect. But I have this thing for the smell of cedar ...
