Well guys ...... Times getting a bit close anyone up for doing another auction bow this year.... We've had some great ones in years past and the cause is more worthy than any other I can think of......we'll need a couple of bowyers to help out :D A string, bow sock, and maybe some arrows and a quiver would round out the package nicely....Any takers???....... Terry
I'll do whatever needs done. Just tell me.
I have a brand new Razorback Leather Raptor Style quiver I planned on donating that I would be more than glad to give you for it Terry.
Great start......since we really are short on time we will probably need to do the readers digest condensed version of the bow build this year....... John...... Do you have a stave you could get down to floor tiller...... any volunteers for final tiller and finish work...... David consider your quiver part of the package......if you could get me a picture of it I can use it to post when the auction forum for this year is activated...... Terry
It should be in your e-mail anytime now.
I will donate a pair of copperhead or canebreak skins to be used on the bow.
Excellent Charles.... When we get a volunteer for the finish work we'll have you send the skins to them...... Here's where we sit

Ok Charles has offered to apply the snakeskins he's providing and take care of the finish and handle wrap..... Thank You sir!!..... Let's wrap up the volunteer list and get things moving.... Here's a pic of one of the previous Tradgang collaborations just to give the potential bidders a taste of what has been made in the past.... Mojoe II (http://bowyersworkshop.com/mojoe2combo.htm) Maybe Bobby and some of the other successful bidders could share a pic or two of their bows....... Terry

I'll get the string/silencers/sealskin (strike plate and rug rest). Just let me know the details and where to send it.
Chad
Terry, I would like to make up a nice set of wood arrows. Let me know what you would like!
Hey Terry, I will offer an unstrung leather bowcase for the bow. It will be made in time for the auction or the time you require it. It will be in whitetail skin in a darker shade like smoke or cognac color without fringe.
Thanks!
What spine arrow are you looking for? I have some ash shafts that I can give you, they will need a little work to make straight. I think the spine is 60-65.
Excellent guys Here's what we have now:

Eric..... You do a fine job of tillering you wouldn't happen be willing to handle the final tiller would you??....... Terry

You want the quiver sent to you Terry?
OK, that quiver is nice but a little plain. If you send me the quiver, I'll attach a sheath & forged knife to it. I wouldn't want Mel's arrows to be all by themselves :) Something like this...Doc
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v110/tippit/Knives/Quiver2.jpg)
Send me your address Doc. I'll send it out to you next Tuesday
Jeff, That background sure is dazzling today!
Love that peek-a-boo knife on that quiver....very nice set up!
P.S. Dano... you are simply wonderful :)
Terry, I did a TX Sweat Knife that everyone signed for the St Judes Auction. If you like, we could pass the bow auction knife around for the team to sign. It could also be out of osage to match the bow. This is the TXS knife before everyone signed it...Jeff
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v110/tippit/Knives/IMG_2504.jpg)
I can make the armguard to match the quiver if I could get my hands on a piece of the same leather. David, would you like to do a little swapping?
I'll see if Art(Razorbak) has a piece that matches. If he does I'll get it sent to you.
Doug, If you want the quiver first and have some leather to match go right ahead. I still have to make up a knife. If you have matching leather save me a small piece for the outer layer of the sheath.
If you don't have matching leather, I may have some or we can buy a piece. I'll split the cost with you...Jeff
Don't buy anything yet. I'm pretty sure Art will have a piece to match and he owes me a favor or three. ;)
Heck, no one said anything about osage. I was think of cutting down the silver maple in the front yard for this bow :) Oh well, hate to disappoint. Osage it is. I think I have the perfect stave for it too. I'll start the page after the weekend. Great job guys! Way to step up!!!!!
John,
I will send you a PM with my address.
Charles,
Pm me your address so I know where to ship it when the tiller is complete.
Two questions:
1) Do you want pictures of the forging process?
2) Once I attach the sheath to the quiver, that determines RH or LH quiver. So I quess I should have it all done and wait to see if a righty or lefty buys the package?
John, I can do the handle out of that silver maple :) Jeff
This is what I'm talking about I love it when these projects start snowballing and taking on a life of their own..... :bigsmyl: ....... It's cool watching Tradgang's finest showing what it's all about..... :campfire: :coffee: .... Terry
I can have scrimshaw added to the knife handle..What ever the winner would like with in reason
Thanks T.......these are always very special bows for sure. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
TTT
Leather is being sent to me Monday. I'll send a piece with the quiver to Jeff and the other piece for the armguard to BowChef
Larry Marshall ..member # 420 is donating some ebony...thinking overlays...Thank you sir.
Thanks David for procuring the matching leather.
I already started forging a couple of blades with pictures of all my steps if that is of interest to the bow build-a-long...Jeff
Razorbak Donated the leather and actually offered to make an armguard but I told him Bowchef had made that offer already.
You folks want to make the quiver the thing to sign so RickD can get the knife scrimshawed?
Works for me. We can sign both if you all want to.
David, I will PM my address.
I have some deerskin to make the bowcase with that matches very close to the color of that fine quiver and brace leather. Or will that matter too much? I can make it different or 2 toned as well. the cognac will look great with the quiver and osage.
Just got back from a weekend in the high country delivering an Auction tag for Coues deer to one of the HOAl kids and spending some quality time in the outdoors with Debi.....Here's what we have so far;
Stave and Floor Tiller, webpage - John Scifres
Final Tiller - Walt Francis
Bow Finish Work - Charles Sinclair (Snakewood3)
String,Silencers,strike plate,rug rest-Chad (LBR)
Bow Sock- Shell
Quiver - David Knipes (Vermonster)
Arrows - Mel (Irish)
Arm Guard - Doug (Bowchef)
Knife and quiver sheath - Jeff (Tippet)
Just wondering if you all could sent Rick your signatures and he could maybe scrimshaw them into one side of the knife handle?? Is that possible Rick? With the short amount of time we have I think the less mailing we have to do the better.... Besides any coins you save on mailing can be used to bid in the auction.... :D
Shell...... I think two toned with one color matching would look fantastic...... :notworthy:
You all are unbelievable.... This is one fantastis auction package....Thank You..... Terry
:clapper:
Doc and I agreeded the knife handle was to small for scrimshaw..Sorry maybe another time
OK Rick..... Thanks for the offer....... Terry
I can donate an arrow case.
Irish - send me a PM with your address & I'll get it out to you. Hate to have those arrows getting dinged up during shipping.
Nice touch John..... Thank You!!..... Terry
I got the bow roughed out and floor tillered last night. I'll do a little heat correction tonight and then send it off to Walt. I'll have the website started tonight also. Stay tuned...
Terry...just sent a couple af pic's to your Cox account....looking forward to following this build along!
Bobby
John, PM on the way
As for the arrows, here is what I am thinking. Let me know if they sound OK. One dozen 23/64 to 5/16 tapered cedars. Yellow Bohning classic nocks. Pecan stain with a walnut stain cap. Hens will be yellow and black barred with a yellow cock feather. 5" Shields. Cresting will be yellow and black. I will make up as soon as I get the spine. After we know the lenght, I will cut to lenght and install brass bullet field points. Sound OK??
Shell.....I tried to send you a PM but your PM box is full..... :D
Those sound like beauties Mel.... What do you think guys and Gal?? ...... Terry
I got the bow-to-be heat corrected and got all the pics ready to go. I'll do a little more floor tillering and it will take me an hour or so tonight to get the website up. I got surprise tickets to the Pacers v. Pistons game last night. Took my 11 year old daughter. Kind of ate into the bowmaking time. Pacers lost :(
Here are the specs: Basic Torges' style bow only a couple inches longer; 67" total length, 1.5" wide for 6" and then tapering to .5" at the tips. The wood was cut in Illinois a couple years ago. It should make any weight we want but I'm leaning towards 50-55#. We'll let Walt make the final choice.
Thanks Terry!! Got the bow's spec's info just now...
I bid $10 more than Dano, whatever his number is. hehe....
I think this is going to be a very interesting auction.
Dano's rich and has more dollars than sense. He starts the bidding at $1500. Thanks for your $1510 bid Calvin!
I'll bid $20.00 US over what ever the MadPigSlayer bids ;)
John's right on the money, well About the more money than sence part. :bigsmyl:
Here's the Webpage: St. Jude\\'s Auction Selfbow Buildalong (http://residents.bowhunting.net/sticknstring/stjudes2007.html)
If everyone can send me pics as the bow and accessories proceed, I will keep the page updated. j.scifres@sbcglobal.net
Very nicely done John.
John,
Good looking stave, I am looking forward to the tillering process. The bow building bug hit me hard after volunteering to help with this project. Here are a couple of pictures of a practice bow I started on Monday evening, it is ready for the short string.
It is a little spooky looking at the similarity of the St Jude's stave and the practice bow.
Your cull is real similar in shape to the one I built (and still use) ten years ago, where did you get your cull design from?
Walt, That's a practice bow ? WOW !!! Nice tiller set up. John and you are doing all the work, I get to do the fun part.
Excellent start John..... I like the "do as I say and not as I do part"...... :knothead: :D Walt....... What are all the quantum physics looking marking on your tiller board?.....Nice looking "practice" Bow by the way..... Terry
Walt,
Where did you get the paper behind your tillering tree. I like that it really looks like it would help with tillering.
Walt, That looks real nice & it looks like you got plenty of practice wood too! My finished bows look like a pile of shavings :) Doc
:)
Can we make a practice bid on Walt's practice bow?
Walt,
My caul is an adaptation of the one Gary Davis showed me way back at the first MOJam. I like the tips with a little reflex like you get with this caul. Nice looking practice bow. If the one I'm sending you blows up, it's nice to have a backup :)
Thanks all. Stay tuned.
John
Jeffery,
You can get the grid board at any sewing supply or Wal Mart, mine cost around fifteen dollars.
Tippit,
You can't have too much Osage, it is like gold in Montana. I seldom sell any of my bow wood; every couple of months I refer somebody wanting to buy a stave to Mike Yancy or Gary Davis.
Calvin,
Unlike your bow last year, if you bid enough to get this years St. Jude bow ,you will not have to wait six months for your bow (Calvin won the bow I donated last year). Also, this year's bows target weight is really close to your preferred weight.
Bob,
I believe John has a good idea, keeping the practice bow as a back up in case something happens to the St. Jude's bow. Also, the Practice bow is only 62" and has a target weight between 65 and 70 pounds at 28", which is a little stiff for most of the bidders out there.
John,
The stave and floor tiller looks great! I am looking forward to doing my part. My cull works really well on bows between 66-68 inches but does not induce enough reflex on most of the bows I make, usually between 58-62 inches. One of these days, when I have more shop space, I will build a shorter form.
Thanks Walt. 65# at 28" perfect. Do you have details on how you built your cull.
Haven't checked this thread in a while, didn't notice the tillering request. I am sure Walt will do an excellent job.

My preffered draw weight is 79#@28" (written on the bow) and 50#@27 actually. LOL.
...but I can TYPE over 60 words a minute :saywhat:
Walt, I will get some pics loaded up in advance of the auction (to show off your stuff) this year, that bow is awesome!!!
(2 piece snakey snake back osage!)
cheers all.
John..... Looks like we are missing one name on the Team List; John Stone (dudley152) donated an arrow case for the arrows Mel is making...... Terry
ttt.... Just pulling this back up so it doesn't get lost..... Terry
The leather was shipped to me today. So I will be shipping the quiver and some extra for the sheath and some for the armguard out to Tippet and Bowchef as soon as I get it.
Sounds good David.... Terry
Yep, 50# @ 27" will fit me just fine since my draw is 25"
Dano, Is yer brace height droppin' as fast as yer draw length ? Has the bow got to Walt yet ??
Too cool guys.......thanks. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
No sir!! I can still keep my brace height up :bigsmyl:
The St. Jude's Bow hasn't arrived yet. However, I did have a false alarm when I got home yesterday and found a really, really, really, nice stave from Timo next to the door.
THANK'S TIM!
I still haven't sent it. I tried Tuesday but it won't fit in my new microcar Toyota Corolla with 4 kids in it. I think I could park this car inside my Explorer. Maybe we should have made a takedown :) I'll send it on Saturday.
The leather has arrived. I'll get it parceled up and out on Saturday if all goes well. Jeff PM me your address please.
OK, I finished the Quiver Knife. I decided to go with horn as it was a little classier. I have a complete set of pictures from raw steel to finish OR I could just post finished product...Doc
Doc.....Get the start to finish Pics to John so he can upload them to the Auction Web Page he started for our project and post the finished Pic here...... :D  Terry
Terry, Where is the Auction Web Page? Doc
OK. Just a teaser..one of these may be the Bow Auction/Quiver Knife. Small three finger palm knives as not to over power the quiver. Forging, hollow grinding, file work, etc to be posted...Doc
Top: Mule deer antler---skinner
Bottom: Elk antler with osage butt---caper

:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
WOW!
One of those will go with the bow?
Very nice....... :clapper: Doc.... You need to e-mail the pics to John at j.scifres@sbcglobal.net and the "St Judes Auction Bow Page " (http://residents.bowhunting.net/sticknstring/stjudes2007.html) is here..... Terry
Terry, Art(Razorbak) was very generous with the leather. I'll be sending Doc enough for three or four sheaths and Bowchef enough for about three armguards. So if there are any other good ideas for the leather, lets put it to use.
Doc, those knives are to drool over. That is some incredible artwork!! :notworthy:
Terry, I got the quiver today from Vermonster. Brand new...very nice. It can be worn RH or LH. I won't add a sheath til I know what the winning bidder wants. Does anyone need the quiver before the auction?
Also I scrapped the above knives in favor of a longer thinner one to help stiffen the outer side and not stick out to get hung up...just need to forge it up.
Walt, Are you doing tip overlays on the bow? If so I'd like a small piece of that wood to add to some osage knife slabs.
Back to square one, we can add all the names to the knife handle either by passing it around or I'll just have someone who doesn't write like a Dr add them :) Doc
"Also I scrapped the above knives in favor of a longer thinner one to help stiffen the outer side and not stick out to get hung up...just need to forge it up."
Man... I'd like to be dumpster diving in your scrap bin...... :D .... Terry
I second Terry!
Good to see this thread back up...I guess Walt should be getting the bow real soon...
Bowchef, did the leather I sent you get there?
As of this afternoon the bow hasn't arrived. I am leaving on a four day turkey hunt in the morning; hopefully it will be here when I return next week.
Jeff, Charles is doing the tip overlays (unless we decide on using some big horn sheep horn I have) so you need to get the scrap pieces from him.
Good luck on the hunt Walt....
Thanks Charles
The mailman just brought the bow and it is looking good!! I have to finish getting ready for my hunt then might have enough time to start the tillering, if not I'll get started on Tuesday evening during the weekly bow building session at my house.
Do I post the pictures here, send them to John, or both?
Doc I just started a scrap yard so just send any of that there scrap. I could study the edge and learn how to put a great edge on a blade. :bigsmyl: <><
QuoteDo I post the pictures here, send them to John, or both?
Walt you can do both...... Terry
We gotta see them here Doc.
ttt...... Just keepin it easy to find.... :D Terry
TTT...Anything happening there Walt ??? How was your turkey hunt ??
We got hit with rain for most of the hunt, which in eastern Montana means GUMBO, so you do not drive off the main roads. We were able to chase a few gobblers but didn't have any real close encounters. Tillering is scheduled to begin this evening and pictures will be posted as it progresses.
Well any hunt is a heck of alot better then none. Great to see you back.
I started the tillering process this evening and am almost at the short string stage. I will do a little more tillering, make a string, and file in some string nocks before taking a break. Here are a few pictures:
This is the stave floor tillered by John and ready to go.
Here is the bow bending at forty pounds: it's a little stiff on the right side.
The stave has a couple of twists and bumps so I am leaving this section of the upper limb the way it is for now.
It is still a little stiff in the right side, but ready for a short string.
How 'bout that Montana license plate in the last pic !
Got back to the tillering this morning and have it to the 22" mark. The first picture is the bow braced and the second is it drawn to 22" @ 40#'s.
Any suggestions are welcome. The tips are a little out of center (3/16") and the tips have been moved as far as possible. I might have to bend it through the handle after tillering if I am unable to get it back in line. I will work on the bow for another hour or two before going for an evening bear hunt. Hopefully I will have the bow in the mail tomorrow or Tuesday.
Walt, Take your time, keep it all week if you think you can refine it thru the tillering. Good luck on the bear hunt...
I'm one of the worst at reading tiller pics..... I much prefer to have the bow in front of me but I'd say the inner 1/3 is looking good on both limbs.... Outer 1/3 looks a bit stiff on the left limb and I'm really having a hard time getting a read on the right limb with that little dip on the end and the shadows...... Maybe a little stiff mid limb???? Coming along right nice Walt....... Terry
Looking good so far. Keep at it. Here's what I see. Green means go.
Thanks Terry and John.
Got back to the tillering this morning and have it down to 50#'s @ 26", the target weight is 50#'s @ 28". At this point the string is nearly centered on the bow so I shouldn't have to do any bending. I took some pictures of me drawing the bow to about 26" from both sides of the bow, left and the right. Any input suggestions? I will try to get it in the mail tomorrow.
I Like it Walt....... Nice Job  Terry
:bigsmyl:
Looking real good now. I'd say the bottom limb is a bit strong and still needs some work on the inner 2/3rds. Top limb looks great.
I have played around a lot with these assymetrical bows now after reading Dean's article on balance in the TBJ a couple issues ago. I have found that for me, shooting 3 fingers under, and the top limb being an inch or two longer than the lower, that I need a slightly negative braced tiller to really balance it on a fulcrum. It should likely be about even shooting split finger. Since I have fine tuned this, my bows are really shooting sweet.
John that is what I am finding. Normally I leave my limbs the same length to ¾´of an inch longer and end up with a 1/8" - ¼" positive tiller on the bottom limb. Currently the bottom is tillered even with the top limb; it might end up with a little negative tiller when finished. Also, as is common with Osage that has been heated and bent, this bow has a different profile, varying from one side of the bow to the other.
Charles, the bow will be in the mail this afternoon or tomorrow morning. The knock groves are straight with sharp edges so be careful when stringing the bow before installing the tip overlays or they may cut the string. As was requested, I roughed out he handle in the Torges bulbous style and centered the sides allowing the bow to be shot either left or right handed.
Is anybody out there good at making strings? The strings I make, though they work well, look like c***. The bow is 64 ½" nock to nock and currently has an old string from a 64" Heritage longbow that had to be untwisted a few times. I will tie up a new one for it before sending along but it would be nice if it had pretty sting on it ( :help: ). Also, if anybody knows or has some influnce with the CFO and CEO of Bow Hush they might see if they would donate a set for the strings. :)
Walt,
What kind of string do you want?
B-50 or one of the higher tech ones like 8125 or D97 with padded loops?
Just let me know I can twist you up a couple.
Regards, Bert.
Need Bow Hush or Hush Puppies????
YOU BET!!!!!!!
Email me and addy, and I'll get them out tomorrow!!!!
tarz@tradgang.com
Terry,
Thanks! The bow went to on to Christopher this afternoon for the finishing process. I will email you his address.
Bert,
I use 15 strands of B50 for all my selfbows, so I don't know much about the high tech stuff. From what they tell me any of the high tech string would be fine with this design. I will send you Christopher's contact information and the two of you can work out the colors to match the grip, tip overlays, and what ever else is going on it.
To everybody who emailed and posted advise a big THANKS!
Oh Yeah..... Bow hush and a custom string.....Terry send a big thanks to the Gals at Bow hush for their donation ,Bert thanks for stepping up on the string and Thank you for donating your talent for this worthy cause Walt...... You all are what makes this site the best.... :clapper: Terry
OK guys.....which color of Hush Puppies should I send.....
(http://www.bowhush.com/gifbin/exparkmidnight.gif)... Night
(http://www.bowhush.com/gifbin/exparkjavapoint.gif) ...Java
(http://www.bowhush.com/gifbin/exparkgoldnugget.gif) ....Nugget
I can't answer this, you should know that a woman can't decide ;)
But I am partial to the Java...wait no, the nugget...no no no the other one...
I like the Java and I bet it matches Shell's quiver..... :D Terry
The java will match one of the 2 tones of leather of the bow sleeve/case nicely but that's also going to match the quiver from Vermonster.
You got to be styling when out and about with your gear ya know....
Shell (using hubby's login, again)
ooops Shell I meant to say Bow case not quiver..... I gotta go get that coffee...... Oh hey there's that Java thing again..... :D And I agree an accessorised hunter is a happy hunter..... Terry
The java will be closest color match to the overlays and skins....
OK...Java will shipped out with tomorrow's mail.
Time to start a few arrows!!
Well Charles looks like our dance is coming up :) Doc
:bigsmyl: I love it when a plan comes together.... Terry
Yes sir Doc, snakes and lizards and....oh my !! Seems as though there is some confusion on who does what. We have got some additional support on string building ect that differs from the original list. First off, I will be finishing the bow . This includes skins, overlays, and grip wrap. As to who builds the string and the actual specs for it I'm going to leave that to Terry to straighten out. Best Regards to all, Charles Sinclair
My mistake Charles...... Here's the list again.....Nothing wrong with having a spare string though..... Terry

I did't realize someone already had signed up to make the strings, sorry Chad.
I can still send a couple if you want but certainly didn't mean to "butt"in.
Regards, Bert.
You're not getting off that easy Bert... There's room in the package for extra strings...... :D Terry
I got the bow today and will tell you that none of the pictures do it justice. John and Walt have done a great job..leaving me the fun part. I'll get going with a scraper tonight and get some pic's up tommrow.
:)
Cleaning things up a bit...very light scraping really pops the figure of the osage. Started working out the overlays also... (http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c359/snakewood3/stjudesbow006.jpg) (http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c359/snakewood3/stjudesbow010.jpg)

Hi gang,
Charles, the spare strings are in the mail.
They should??? arrive sometime this coming week.
They are 14 strand B-50 to fit a bow that is 64" and 65" between the nocks.
Take care all.
Regards, Bert
Lookin' good Chuck.
Thanks..Shell, Dano, and everyone. The bow is progressing well. Got the limbs skinned today. Used the resident selfbow guru's ..Dano and Eric Krewson's methods. I feel they came out real well. Bert, I'll be looking for the strings. I have also recieved the string silencers...very nice. Will try and get some pic's up soon. Best regards to all....

It's a mighty purty job, and I see my buddy, Cal approves of it too - so it's gotta be dyn-o-myte! Wisht I wus rich, instead'a so durned good lookin' - I'd be in that bidding war big time, for sure. Kudos to all involved.
Good pics too!
Thanks gang. I made some more progress...superglue, light sanding, then another coat of ca..I'll try to start on the grip tonight and will be spraying with Thunderbird this week. These skins have come out flawless. (http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c359/snakewood3/stjudesbow057.jpg)

Snake in the grass!! Snake in the grass!! Beautiful Snake in the grass!!
Flawless is a huge understatement Chuck.
I dunno what that Hugh guy said, Dano, but I say that bow is ALIVE!
Killdeer
Dang crooked finger!!!
Here are the arrows, ready for fletching - yea, I know, there are only 11. One was already in the jig when I decided to take a picture.
Not the best picture in the world, colors came out real nice. They should look good coming out of an osage bow. I really like the brass heads.
Nicely done. This is going to be one awesome package so bid accordingly folks!
I just got a PM from Charles (Snakewood3) and he would like to have the accessories shipped to him so he can get a pic of the full package........ If you have your item done PM him to get his ship to addy......... Great job by everyone..... This is one fine package for the kids........ Terry
Whatever the consensus is I'm fine with. I just thought pic's of the package would be nice. No big deal either way but if it all does come together here I will cover shipping....Charles
Sounds like a great idea to me. Doug and Jeff have my donations right now so they will need to get the pieces to Charles.
I just got a special package from snakewood3. I think you guys & gals are going to like this :)
But my daughter is graduating from vet school this weekend so all projects are on hold til next week. To be continued...Doc
I'm also getting a special package from Charles for the bow sleeve, it's a secret....shhhh! ;)
Arrow rest and strike plates...a little more sanding then time to spray the finish... ttt
Got a couple real nice strings from Bert. I have also recieved some beautiful arrows from Irish. I'm on the last coat of Thunderbird on the bow. Hope to start posting some detail pic's of the bow and other stuff tommrow....
I'll have the knife made by this weekend and get some pictures up...Doc
Still tweaking out the finish...coming along quite well. Thought I was on the last coat but... Doc that blade looks sweet !!!
Knife forged & finished...6 1/2" oal 3 1/4" blade, alligator skin over tapered Osage slabs for handle on 5160 high carbon steel. I believe the blade will be a good match for the bow. I will wait til I know if winning bidder is RH or LH before attaching the sheath on quiver. Thanks to Charles for the alligator skin. This has been a fun project...thanks to the entire group. Doc

Man oh man is that something...you guys are building heirlooms there for sure.
Thanks JC and all the gang for the compliments. Doc has done an awesome job. Brace yourselfs for the bowcase on the way from Shell. It might be Tuesday before it gets here. The arrows from Irish and bowstrings from Bert are first class. The bow is coming along quite well. The finishing is something that takes time to achieve the quality needed to be worthy of all this...
Charles,
Take your time, you are doing good!
Here's a picture of how the knife would appear on the quiver pending which side the winner wants it on...Doc

About finished. A deep satin finish with the scale pockets filled. Turtle strike plates, real alligator grip wrap and tip overlays. I don't think these pic's do it justice. Will take some outdoors tommrow. (http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c359/snakewood3/arrowrest015.jpg) (http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c359/snakewood3/arrowrest014.jpg) (http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c359/snakewood3/arrowrest016.jpg) (http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c359/snakewood3/arrowrest020.jpg) (http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c359/snakewood3/arrowrest017.jpg)
Very, very nice. Great job!
:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
Here's a few pics of the bowsleeve. I used some nice heavier weight moose leather and beaded 2 timber rattler bands patterned to the skins on the bow.
