Title: Wood Arrow business for Sale
Post by: Troy D. Breeding on March 29, 2007, 09:59:00 AM
Have you ever thought about being able to make your own wood arrow shafts? What about having a way to become part of the Traditional Archery Industry?

After giving this alot of thought I've desided to stop making wood shafting. By doing this I will have no need to keep my machines. Yes, I could push them over into a corner of the shop, cover them for protection, and still have them handy should I ever change my mind.

I know some of you are now saying "why".

Number one reason: I've simply got too many irons in the fire and I'm getting too old to keep working 12-14 hour days.

Now that I a full fledged archery shop to deal with as well as the work required to keep this farm where we want it I'd be forced to go back to those 12-14 hour days if I start back making shafts.

Sooooooo, I'm selling the wood arrow manufacturing portion of Sticks and Feathers.

If you think this might be something your interested in just give me a call.

Serious inquires only Please.....

Justin,

Ain't quittin, just cutting back. Making finished arrows, shafts, a few bows, and trying to take care of this local wheelie bows that can't do it theirselves is more than the average fellow can handle.

Dang, you sold me the best arrows I ever had, nice heavy hickories 2 years ago, and I've been meaning to order several dozen more.  Looks like I waited too long.  I inderstand a little - I bought a small farm a year ago and it is taking ALL my free time, to the point that I'm hunting less.  Not good!

Jeff,

Give Aeronut a little time and he will be able to supply you with as good of shafts as you got from me in the past. The machines made the trip to MO without damage. The ones I ran the other day for him to see how they worked came out as good as any I've run in the past. I don't think it will take him long before he will be producing top notch sticks.

I think Dennis was little concerned about being able to sell. I told him not to worry. All he had to do was only offer shafts that he would be willing to use.

Dang there is a shortage of great arrow shafts out there.  If Dennis gets it together and works hard he will have the business the rest of his life.

Troy sad to see you getting out of it, but nice to see someone of Dennis's caliber taking over. Met him two weeks ago in Oklhoma. Nice feller. Sleeps in a tee pee. Always smiling. I think he'll do everybody right.

Offer shafts that I would be willing to use?  Wow, you haven't seen some of the crap I shoot, have you! LOL.

It will take a little time to get set up on the machines and some more info from Troy on the FET requirements (don't want the Fed boys knocking on my door).  I'll post when I get everything ready to go.

Thanks for the encouragement guys, I'm really looking foreward to this.

Tee Pee, Tepe, Teepee, tipi....ya know, one of those cone shaped tents.

Oops appears I plumb forgot how to spell Tipi...LOL

His pic reminds me of a "coneheads pumpkin" (from Saturday Night Live)

I can hear his motto now "we'll leave the light in for ya" ha ha

Here's Dennis's Tipi, tee pee, TP, cone shaped tent in the daylight at Ojam. Guess next time I see it, it'll have a big table out in front full of shafts

Hey Dennis, I think you should fix up a dozen shafts for each member of tradgang for FREE. You know we could be your official field test\\quality control\\feedback test group.  :bigsmyl:   No?? Guys and gals I tried.

Anyway good luck with your new adventure and let us know when your ready to start taking orders.(I been thinking about trying some hickory myself)

So Troy, now that you are out of the wood arrow business your trailer should be a bit lighter. Less gas. In fact you don't even have to bring the trailer.  Why not come down to Ft Worth like the old days and have some beer and BBQ at the TSLC.  I'll buy   :bigsmyl:  ...Van

Dennis, I'm ready to order whenever you are ready to sell.  I hope you don't raise the price too much - I thought Troy's price of $1/arrow was fairly good.  Troy, I hope this change means more hunting time for you.
