I just got my new Double Bull Matrix Blind. I got the recurve model but it was not necessary as it is big and roomy. I watched the video and set it up. It took me about 30 seconds the first try. I played with the windows some and than shot out of it. I only could get 10 yards as I was in the living room but it is sweet. I will be killing turkeys from it for sure. I actually like the windows in the blind better than the adjustable openings right now, that may change once I get used to it, we will see. I paid $400 shipped and it was a great deal, now I just got to get a silk black headcover and some black gloves and I am ready to go!! Shawn
Black silk headcover and gloves??? Sounds fishy shawn? :saywhat: :D <><
Frank, ya gotta be dressed in real dark colors so ya do not get spotted by those turkeys! Shawn
"I only could get 10 yards as I was in the living room but it is sweet."
Your living room is as big as my house!
Congrats on the DB!
No, I was shooting from the living room out thru the den and into the kitchen. I et it up again for practice and will do so about 30 more times before turkey season. It is gonna make my turkey hunting very nice. Shawn
Wow. Deer, rabbits, squirrels, turkey...you're place has it all, Shawn!
I can't believe Cindy let you set that up in the living room and shoot to the kitchen! :scared: I'm picturing that shot and thinking of all of the possibilities........doorjamb, refrigerator,.....
David
Somebody has a bad case of cabin fever... :biglaugh:
Cindy even helped me get the target in the right spot. I guess she did not want me to shoot the blender again! :bigsmyl: Shawn

OK shawn anything ya say. Just messing with buddy<><
Shawn,
I just bought a recurve model matrix blind as well. I can't wait to get it setup and do some shooting out of it. I have been looking all over for a black headcover and some thin black gloves. Do you have any idea where I might order some from? If you have any ideas let me know. Good luck on those turkeys.
Bill
I have one on the way too. Also the recurve model. Do you think the extra height is too much?
I've seen you shoot . . you sure you weren't shooting at the blender? ;)
Larry
Th erecurve model is a bit tall, if I was using it for deer I would send it back and get the regular one. This is for turkeys only and I think it will be great. Ya can get a silk black head cover and gloves at cabelas for around $15. I a hitting a softball size target every time at 17 yards, that is my self imposed limit on turkeys. I just set it up in the yard again and I can do it in 30 seconds. DB says 7 seconds, no way no how, but still it is super quick!! Ya cannot go wrong with this blind. People say it is hard to justify the cost, well the way this thing is made it will last for 20 years if taken care of and to me that is a great investment. Shawn
Shawn she may have had some other ideas, maybe she thought it would be a great opportunity for some new stuff as in kitchen appliances :saywhat:
by the way if you don't like the matrex I'll trade ya for my DB. :D
good luck,
and if you figure out how to call the birds into your kitchen I hope you plan how-to thread
I hunted out of one for the first time back in February and really liked it. They are well made blinds and I came to like the openings over the windows but that was just me.
Maybe some day for me. 30 second setup now thats nice, it takes me a heck of alot longer with my penthouse. Hey Shawn is there room for two
What are you finding as the best seat for the DB?
I can set mine up in about 10seconds, you'll get fast with practice bud....
The tripod seat that DB sells with the back is the best I've seen.........
Is the tripod seat tipsy?
I found a folding camp chair that is about 2/3rds. regular size and it seems perfect. I timed it again tonight as I keep taking it down and setting it up for practice and ten seconds would be the best anyone is gonna do it. i am more than happy with around 20. I also think the more ya set it up, it kind of breaks in a bit as evrything is real stiff in mine.
Go get em Shawn! My DB Matrix arrived in the mail yesterday and I'm gonna try it out today! I'm fired up for turkey season!
To continue Frank's theme...
So you where setting in your bull blind with your wifes black silk undies on your head...
You where praticing for turkey hunting???
;)
Shawn, could you shoot a 64" LB out of that thing? I was thinking of getting one, but want to make sure I could get it to work with the longbow.
:help: What have you guys found to be the "best" method of having the bow ready (bow holder, in your lap, on the ground, or...
I was thinking of one of those holders that sticks in the ground. Ideas?
Good one, koj-meister!!!!!!!
My wife is pretty good about it, and I'm a pretty decent shot, but I think she would draw the line at shooting from the living room into the kitchen!!!
A tip of the hat to Shawn's wife...very understanding! :bigsmyl:  :biglaugh:
Blackhawk, I believe you really do not have to worry about getting your bow ready. I believe ya could have it laying there unstrung and arrows laying on the ground and it conceals ya so well from turkeys ya could string it up, nock and arrow and than shoot as long as ya have black on they will not see ya and that is when they are 10 yards away. Slayers ya could shoot a 70" LB out of this recurve model and hardly have to cant it. I can stand in this and have 3-4"s of head room and I am 5' 11"s tall.
