Title: Tipping Hunting Guides/Dog handlers
Post by: Hawken1911 on March 26, 2007, 08:56:00 PM
In a couple of weeks I will be hunting at a preserve for the first time ever.  It will be a boar hunt in Tennessee using dogs on 2000 acres, and I'm not sure what to expect.  I've seen the African hunt discussions about tipping PH's, trackers, etc. so I would assume it's similar in the states?  Can those of you who have hunted boar at a preserve or ranch give me an idea of what to expect?  How many people assist you with the hunt, and what's an average tip for the various people, if any?

Thanks,

Paul

I get to run my bird dog for hunters from time to time.   The cost of keeping a good dog is not cheap.  If you had a good time and it inspires a bunch of chat with your friends later I would tend toward the generous side.
