Post by: Ian johnson on March 26, 2007, 08:55:00 PM
besides a string silencer, what else can you do to a recurve to silence it?

I put limbsavers om my recurve along with some mole skin in the string grooves just past where the string makes contact with the limbs.

Again, what Terry said.  Bowhush helps as much as string silencers.  And the hushpuppy string silencers do as well or better than any.
Also make sure your brace height is right, the higher the quieter.
With the Bowhush stuff, my recurve is almost "longbow quiet".

Bow  Hush and Hush Puppies work great on a recurve.I had comments on my Black Widow on how quiet it was with them.
