If you could only own one recurve bow what would it be? Please include make, model, length, poundage at your draw length.
Chek-mate Hunter 2 62" 60@29
Widow TF 62" 60@29
Widow SA 62" 60@29
Blacktail Elite 62" 60@29
Rose Oak King Panther 64" 65@29
Rivers edge arroyo
Kota prarie swift
Robertson falcon
Schafer silvertip
..... see, I have a real issue with that "one bow" thing.
But, The CM hunter2, to me is like the lead head jig in my fishing tacklebox. It ain't the prettiest or fanciest and it certainly didn't cost much, but it always works well. ;)
If I could have only one, it would be a longbow! But in keeping with your question, the last of my recurves to go would be a old magnesium A-risor Bear takedown with No. 3 60# limbs.
RER Arroyo 54" 53#@28" No stack all the way to 30" as far as I can feel. Very smooth and quiet even withouit silencers. Shot the snot otta one at the WTA banquet. Bill W was and is just amazed at this little bow. And for good reason. <><
Morrison Shawnee, Arapaho limbs, 60" limbs, 56# (or less) at 29"
So far it would have to be a Robertson Vison Falcon, 62" and 57# @ 29". But I haven't tried them all yet, so my quest continues....... ;)
Fox Breed. 62", 65# at 31".
My pick is a Bob Lee Hunter Pro, 45# @ 26". It's a 54" one piece recurve that will fit just right in a blind.
I have a Schafer on order that's supposed to arrive in August. I might change my mind then.
Palmer 62" 53# @ 29"
Only one recurve...Hmmm...RER Arroyo 58" 53@28 only because my 54" Arroyo isn't here yet. Although I Love my RER T/D too.
My Saluki Scythian, 52: and 49#@28.
Are you serious. 1 Bow!!!!!!!
Well if I have too.
Brackenbury Drifter 64" 57 lbs @ 28" draw.
Man that was hard!!
Old Bear B mag; RH 62", 55#@29............Shick
I'd have a hard time choosing between a Habu VyperKahn 64" 55# @28" or Blacktail Elite VL with same specs. But I'd probably go with a Blacktail because it looks so good and performs pretty good as well.
The best recurve bow that I have ever had is a Black Widow 53# @ 26.
It would be hard to pick just one, but if I had to, it would be Rose Oak Wildcat 50# @ 26" 58"
I'll second the Rose Oak bows. But I prefer my new 58"50#@28" Puma Hunter. Brandon has a new limb design that is very fast and quite and it feels great in your hand. For about $500 they're a tough bow to beat. Mike
My BW MA11 62" and 53#@28" and I pull 29" so 56#, give or take. Alan
Black Widow PSA 56" 59#@25"... This bow is short, sweet and seems to want to shoot where I am looking. The perfect choice for ground hunting.
John III
Only One Recurve?...That's easy!...I'm happy with my Black Widow TFV Ironwood...60", 51# @ 26"...This bow has served me well since 2002 and has been rained on, stepped on, fell out of bear stands, thrown about, but most of all...Saved me from a broken wrist during a fall on the rocks...
I Love My Widow...And All Her Battle Scars!
Thanks for asking Jim!
... mike ...
hoyt gamemaster, the most versitle bow ive ever owned
62" 42lb @28
My Morrison Shawnee or my T-D,60" 50-52#@27"The best looking and shooting there is.
Even though I don't own any anymore I can honestly say out of all the recurves I owned and shot I would have to say a Robertson Peregrine as far as a one piece recurve.
Black Widow PSA, 52#@28"
One recurve nope Longbows rule LOL Frank
Hummingbird Kingfisher, 60", 50@28.
Ill Have to go with my SilverTip,

One Piece: Kota Prairie Swift, 60", 53-54lbs@29"
Take Down: CM TD Hunter II, 58", 53-54lbs@29"
My go to bow is a 66# B/W PSA V 60" but the very idea of only having one bow has got to be if not at least unconstitutional probably subversive and unamerican.LOL
Unamerican indeed ! One bow ? What the heck is this ? Russia ? :D
What fun is there owning just one recurve bow?
BEWARE the archer who owns only one bow...er sumthin like that,LOL
My 58" Red Wing Hunter,50# @ 28", is the only one I have owned.
I've shot some others , none were as comfortable in my hand though.
I would go with my Jack Kempf Kwyk Styk I will have two sets of limbs 56"s and one 48# and one 55#s at 28"s. A very, very close second though would be my Rivers Edge Arroyo, they are sweet bows mine is 54"s and 54#s at my 28.5" draw. Shawn
Wes Wallace 60" Mentor... She's 60# @ 28". She's beautiful and gets the job done with finesse!
If I could only have one bow, it would have to be my Bear Takedown with the A riser and 53@28" #2 limbs. So far this is my favorite bow ever, and I've had quite a few!
Toby
Black Widow PSR II 56" 59#@28".
It would be boring as all get out.
Black Widow HF-1225 (metal handle) 46# @ 28 inches,62 inches long. It has always come thru when I needed it.
One Bow - Ancient Spirits Kadiak takedown recurve.
Jim,
I have to agree with Shawn on this one. You know I only shoot longbows now, but I've shot alot of recurves in the past dozen yrs and even bought and sold a BW. When I shot Guru's Kwyk Styk I told myself, if I was too buy a new bow, it would be a kwik styk.
I just shoot a couple of new wings that felt nice.
Get to some trad shoot'sand test drive befor you commit to all the Honey Do's you've signed onto below in the fine print.
Rocky Mountain Recurve, 17" Bolivian Rosewood riser, #3 limbs makes a 60" bow. 64# @ 28". Retired it this year after 18 years.
Well this is easy, since I only have one bow and it is a Recurve, Black Widow PSAX 62" 45lb @ 28"
I do own one bow...Blacktail TD...BUT I have another one on order! Spring is here! I was told the bow will be here soon! Oh boy!
DAS and Acadian Woods recurve by Tim Mullins..
That's easy for me as I can only shoot one bow well at a time.
My choice: Chek-Mate HunterII 48# @ 29 62".
Good Huntin,
Ed
I like my Mikuta longbow.....But,If I had to pick a recurve.....I guess it would have to be.....
A mid-late 1960's 58" Bear Grizzly,45#-50# @ 28" just like a trusty old .30-.30
You got that right chuck i like to keep it as simple as i can.
56" Border Black Douglas Ultra with HEXIV limbs, 58# at 27". A great bow, the best I have.
Fedora 560
Robertson Vision I Creation,60",60#@28"ebony riser with boo limbs and myrtle vaneers
Schafer Silvertip,60",59#@28" Stripped ebony riser, boo limbs with stripped ebony vaneers
Blacktail Elite VL,60",63#@28" gaboon ebony footed with orange cocobolo, boo limbs with yew vaneers.
yeah got the three I want and shoot the best.
Sorry could not pick one.
Danny
I'd have to go with my Hoyt Gamemaster and my habu recurve.
DAS GenII riser with either Win&Win WinEx limbs or Border HEXIV ILF limbs. I'm awaiting the DAS inserts for the Border limbs so I can shoot them on the DAS riser. The WinEx limbs are a great shooting set of limbs. Based on my experience with a Border bow, I suspect they, too, will shoot very well off the DAS riser.
Bill
Right now, I'd have to say my Great Plains:
I shoot longbows almost exclusively, and have for a long time, but the one recurve I have in my rack is a 60-inch, 55#@28 inches bamboo lamed Great Northern Ghost. Over the years, I've shot a lot of recurves, but have never found one better.
My heart lies with Selfbows but I do have one Recurve on the rack. Zipper, 60", #53@28". I have a set of LB limbs ordered for it and then it will be even better.
If I had to have just one,aah it would be this one

Blacktail Elite VL 62" 50 @ 28" not only a real looker, she leaves vaportrails.
Brent
Rocky Mountain Recuve
My choise is the Great Plains "Palo Duro" B-model recurve. 47# @28" and 60" long. Smooth as butter and fast, even with silencers.
V-Archer
DAS
I like my Sovereign Ballistiks. 57" 57@27 or 62" 53@27.
Carl
"A mid-late 1960's 58" Bear Grizzly,45#-50# @ 28" just like a trusty old .30-.30"
Couldn't have said it any better, Chuck. The 1960's Grizz gets my vote too...
Morrison Shawnee with Arapahoe limbs 60" 55# @ 28"
I find I could be happy with most recurves out there as there are so many equally as good. However, if I had to choose only one in a one piece bow it would be...
Fedora 560 60" @52-55#
I've only shot about fifteen different make one piece recurves to date.
