hey guys, i am going on leave from iraq sometime in june and when i come back i would like to bring a bow back with me. i figure i need to shoot some since i will be getting back home in october and will want to get right into hunting. i ordered a 60" 60lb chaparral kaibab which will be ready and waiting for me. i dont really want to bring that bow over here for fear of damage. so my question is this: what bow or type of bow would you recomend getting to get the most out of the shooting? the muscle work and form are the main focus, but i have only shot a recurve and i dont know if there will be a big difference in the r/d. i thought of a take down of some sort for easy travel. any ideas would be appreciated. thanks
I would look on E*** and see if I could find some thing in the length and draw weight to match my new bow, some thing cheep and kinda beat up so you dont have to worry about it, if you could find a T/D while on leave you could take it back as a carry on. Thanks for serving.
thats what i was going for and i have seen a few here and there. i should have asked a differnet question. would shooting a recurve hinder my transition to the r/d as soon as i got back?
Alot of the R/D bows have a recurve style riser anyway so I dont the transition would be that diffacult.
thanks mac, ill keep my eye out for one now
I see there is a Martin Savannah on the classifieds, usally tou can pick them up for $350.00 or less, you might even decide thats all the bow you need.
