What kind of arrow speed are you guys getting out there that have draw weights in the 42 to 48# range? Also(don't yell at me but), what is the heaviest carbon available? ......Charlie
suprisingly i got 202-205 out of my hoyt gamemaster witha lightspeed at 42 lbs,
my browning wasp, which is my hunting bow, throws a 2216 with a 145gr point at 156-160,
i couldnt tell ya about the carbons
A bow of the same design and exact make up will throw an arrow the same speed whether it is 40#s or 70#s. Ya have to go buy arrow weight and grains per pound of draw weight. ex. 70# bow at 28"s shoots a 9 grain per pound arrow(630 grains 9 times 70) 180fps. The 40# bow will shoot an arrow 9gpp.(40 times 9 = 360 grains) 180fps. I had a Kwyk Styk with two sets of limbs, one 63#s the other 48#s they both shot a 9gpp. arrow 188 fps. Shawn
The new TD longbow I made at 40@26" shoots a 530gr arrow 160fps. And thats 13.25 grains per inch.
Revive, That is good performance-iVe fopund 530 grains at 150 perfectly adequate on deer and Javelina.
