To make a long story short I broke my left hand during martial arts training on friday and i'm now in a cast for about a month and a half. so I can't shoot my bow. i guess it's time for some reading. anyone have any suggesyins for some good archery books? since i can't shoot for a while.
Howard Hills hunting the hard way, Hunting with the bow &Arrow by Saxton Popw, any of Don Thomas's books, Come November By Gene& Barry Wensel, Peter Capsticks books if you are interested in Africa, Trailing a Bear by Bob Munger, Bows on the Little Delta by Clen St. Charles. That should be enough to keep you busy, Joseph
Howard Hills hunting the hard way, i just finshed that book, its awsome, but sftr i read a few pages of the book , had to just get my bow and go out shooting , as is imspired me so much,
So might not be a good idea to read, if you cant shoot your bow at the same time , lol
Ps hope you get better soon.
James
Here's for a fast recovery.

Sorry to hear about your hand, hope it heals quickly, My hats off to you and martial arts, thought thats what I wanted to do, started to practice with them numchucks, thought I was getting pretty good and then they wirreled around somewhere they wern,t supposed to, well you know the rest of the story, anyway my career ended there as soon as i picked myself off the ground which took awhile, Trust me the bows safer.
If that is your bow hand, you can always try shooting with your feet. Most don't have the time to would try this as many trick shooters do. Give ya something new to do and keep ya drawing arm in shape.

Sorry to hear about your hand, follow doctors orders and recover well.
Try reading "A Sand County Almanc" by Aldo Leopold. Leopold was a bowhunetr and archer but the book is more focused on consevation and the philosophy of man in nature. It will make you think as well as be a good read.

Take care and get well quick....
It's a bummer. I pulled or tore a muscle under my right arm. Laid off shooting about two and a half weeks and went to a 3-D shoot. Didn't wait long enough and did it again. Now I must not shoot for at least a month. Texas Hill Country Shootout is coming up this next month and I really want to be able to shoot in it. It is my favorite shoot of the year and I am concerned about whether or not I am going to be able to shoot by then. It is really hard not to go out and practice, but I just can't risk it. I hope your hand heals quickly because I know exactly how you feel. It's a real bummer.
