I just went out to do a little shooting, when I drew back I heard a little crack. My heart sank. I found a small crack on my riser as well as were the belly lam meets the riser. This is a bow I built, I have built several(30-40). This bow is about a year old, but I shoot nearly everyday. Is there anything I can do to save this bow? I put some super glue in the crack but that didn't seem to help. Any ideas, Thanks

You cold try heating the riser up slightly (use a heating pad) and putting some Loctite on it. I have done this successfully for a couple of bows and it worked. Good luck!
Something is not fitting right. (IMO anyway) Maybe something swelled up or there's a teeny gap that went unseen until now. It's a tough one.
Looks like you used Bocote. Give it some time to adjust. Sand enough finish off to expose the wood and no finish, use the super thin super glue and fill the gap, and refinish the area. With Bocote it may do this several times, It will not fall apart.....
Thanks for the replies. I should have mentioned it is cocobolo, which is an oily wood as well. Thanks for the tips, I will try the sand and superglue. Thanks again. Steadman
