I just picked up some 4 blades a while back for turkeys, went backed and checked the 2 blades and noticed the same thing.
2 or 3 angles to one blade edge. Really stinks hogging off that much meat to get a consistent angle from tip to heel. Used to always be 2 different angles from top to bottom on one edge. Now I noticed there is a spot in the tip section where it's still triple steel that is like someone touched it to a wheel ever so slightly? Takes some serious grinding to get to a fine edge!!!! Thankfully even on the 4 blades you can still do this on a lansky with the extra course diamond stone and get it done.
Anyone else notice this?
I'm planning on making a stop at the factory while I'm back in Mn, leave here in 2 weeks.
Been a loyal eskimo 2 blade shooter for 16 years, dont see a point in changing other then the initial angle grind is a PAIN IN THE REAR!
Definatly will be neat to see the shop finally, bein an ex mn boy!
Haven't bought any recently, but I've always used a file to touch-up and get a consistent bevel along the entire edge before working with stones, etc.
I really don't have a great time trying to get Zwickey heads to the edge that I want. But once I do, they stay sharper longer than other heads do. That being said, I really prefer Magnus above all others.
Take pictures of the Zwickey shop for the boys since many of us don't get to go!
yup, once ya gettem they stay sharp....excellent heads. Just suprised to see how bad the factory grind has gotten in the little time I've been at it.

I have used a bunch of Eskimos and Deltas over the years and always found them to be a great broadhead. Last year I used the Eclipse heads all season and think I'll stay with them.. I used both the 125's and the 145's. The 145 offers a wider cut, similar to the Delta..
Another fine head to consider.
I use double files on an angled board to get a straight edge on them. Then an Accu-Sharp for the proper edge angle. Then lightly touch 'em with a ceramic rod. Scary sharp.
lol, have no problem with the heads, or getting the sharp.
Really aint pleased with how they are factory grinding the angles. Seems they've gotten worse.
The last bunch that I got 2 years ago, had the same problem. I would mark the edge with a sharpy and go to work with a file, there were some places that the sharpy marker would not file off. I had been a Zwickey fan for quite a few years, after that last bunch I switched to Magnus.

I have used Zwickey heads for years. Two years ago a buddy had me try Stos heads. If you guys haven't tried Stos heads you might what to check them out. They come in 130, 145 and 160 gr.

I'm not completely sold on magnus, been shooting zwickeys for so dang long I dont want to change. HOpefully a stop at the shop will bring light to it.
My buds the R&D for magnus, he's been working on me for a couple years now, go figure.
100% true, the reason I went away from them, otherwise a great head.
When I tried to use the angled blocks and files my results were mixed with long and skinnier, shorter and fatter, all over the place. STOS is a great head with the right factory grind on it.
Zwicky did come to our local archery club for a presentation and gave everybody 3 heads to boot, would really like to see them clean up their grind issues.
