Only a couple of days left until a few western Tradgangers get together to chase hogs in some of California's finest swine country (yeah, they grow grapes there too ;) ).
A while back Terry had a post encouraging us to pull together hunts to get to know each other. Great idea. Although we've never met, we already share the bond of traditional gear and Tradgang. Bjorn, Orso, Wtpops and I will be making the trip. This is the same ranch that Wtpops brought down that nice boar a couple of weeks ago (he's addicted I tell ya!).
We'll post up some hunt pics and info as soon as we can!
Best of luck to all of you
Take lots of pix!
Go get'em Norb! Wish I could be there! Hopefully next time! Stick one for me though!!
It is the West Coast 'Swine Dine and Wine' fest! Chopper's place will be Margarita Ville for the week-end!
Norb, save a few for me! No wait, they're an invasive and destructive pest, so kill them all! But save a few for me to eradicate, marinate, and masticate. :)
Just so there's no confusion, "masticate" means "to chew." Gotta pre-empt the 8th grade humor. ;)
Woodie thinks he's Ali now with the rhymes! LOL Old 8th grade humor for you. hehe
Look forward to the pics and stories! (forgot to put that in lol)
The new hog hunter's credo....
"to eradicate, marinate and masticate..."
Woody, those opposable thumbs don't get in the way of your typing! That's flat brilliant
Hey Norb, sure wish I could of made this one. Thanks again for the offer. Hunt well my friend.
Mark
Good luck on your hunt in CA Swine Country. Like Guru said, take lots of pix.
Can't wait to see HOGZILLA.
Kent, I was meaning to email you. I'm gonna try to be the first one to kill a piggie with one of your new long bows....I have some arrows flying PERFECTLY out of them. CX Terminator lites, 100 grain inserts and 145 grain Eclipse two blades...545 grains of fury!

Mark, thanks. If I can't hunt well, at least I should hunt often!
Wow that is a looker cant wait to see it in action. Ive never seen a long bow with that much of a foward handle. Ill bet that thing sets stedy in the hand.
WOW!! That thing is awesome!!!!!!
Kent makes about as sweet a bow as there is.....if there was another bow for me besides my KS...it would be a Ridgrunner....given the chance at one of those in a lefty version,I might have to buy it. And I don't buy bows very often!!!
Very nice Kent
Hey Norb, Hope your gonna send a 160 grain Simmons landshark through one!! Take some pics please. :wavey:
good luck, Beachie and friends...don't use up all your good shots though, save a couple for may .sit just behind the pig for the photos. :bigsmyl: :campfire:

Bob

That is a perdy bow, :D the only thing it is missing is some boars blood on it, so put some blood on it and take a pic this weekend for all of us wouldbes who cant hunt this weekend.
Went out the other day and saw this big calico, my hunting Buddy got a shot at him and hit him high in the shoulder ( no mans land ) he will be OK, we believe it's above the spine.

Good Luck guys! I've heard Chopper's is a great place to go for pigs. I've been chasing pigs in the Lake Sonoma area this year with no luck yet. Too much public pressure has driven them to nocturnal only. Looking forward to the story!
Oh man! Have fun, tell us some good stories when you get back.
Big Bob, 58", 55@27, bocote and birdseye, carbon, first-of-its kind longbow limbs :)
Dave, I'll be happy with a nice meat pig or two. Gotta replenish the freezer.
Bth, you'll have to fill me in on Lake Sonoma. I've read about it but haven't hunted there. Too far from SD!
Leaving at midnight tonight!
