I just received my Thunderstick fro Jim Reynolds,WOW what a bow,was a little concerned about going fron a recurve to a longbow, that stick shoots awsome, right where you look and NO hand shock, fast and very quite. The workmenship is second to none.... Thanks Jim for a wonderful bow. Pete
MOAB is a fine bow for sure.
Yep, fine shooting bow.
I have one that is 60", 58# @ 29". Pulls very smooth and smokes an arrow.

It must be 'New MOAB Week' Is it time to go home yet? Got the call from my wife about an hour ago. My St. Jude's MOAB arrived this morning. I can't wait to get home and fling a couple of arrows. I've had one of Jim's Thunderstick IIs for years and can't wait to see and shoot that new MOAB. Indeed Thanks Jim.
Howard
MOAB is an incredible bow. I had a TS III that was @3# lighter in draw weight. My MOAB shoots the same arrows 10 f.p.s. faster. Mine is 60" and 63# @ 27". Very fast and smooth. It actually out shots my 66# recurve.
wudstix,
The one I have isn't very far off from my recurve. The MOAB is one quick shooting longbow.
Mike
Bah, another four or five months before mine is done.....
Good luck with it!I almost ordered one a while back butI thought I couldn't wait 8 months for it HA!.Was going to get a thunder stick mag ah some day.
I just bought one from wingman and it should be here in the next 2 days!!! 62in. 47#@28, bamboo core and lams with cocobolo riser.. Can't wait!! Jim
Anyone chrono'd one? Is the MOAB the top of his line as far as performance?

Boo hoo...I'm looking at six. :(
Just bought a 53#@28" 60" MOAB off the classifieds here(had to wait 2 days on it ;) :p ) I chronoed it at 158 fps with a 705 grain carbon, don't know how good that isbut its bout the right speed for my onboard lil computer and with a lot more arra weight than I'm used to!
   It's one sweet shootin stick, but, and that's a big butt, I prefer the Ramhorn curve. Both are point and shoot though, can't go wrong with either. Jeff and Jason, sorry to hear about your waits, ya'll can stop over any time and shoot and drool on mine......LOL
Dave
I considered buying one used, but I have been promising Jim for six years now I would buy one of his bows someday.
Patiently waiting...
Went right home and shot the MOAB yesterday. It is indeed a rocket launcher. It's 60" and 58# @ 28". With my short draw I'm pulling around 48#. This bow is way faster than my TSII. I shot arrows that ranged between 40 - 55lb spine and weighed between the low 400s to almost 620 grains and the bow handled them all. The 55lb/620gr arrows had a bit of spriral to the flight but I was still amazed that this bow shot them as well as it did. Fabulous bow!

Pistol....Pics please and strung!! LOL please:)
Jim is close to having my MOAB done and I can't wait! I bought it in an auction and it is one of his famous "Arrow Inlay" bows! The report in TBM on the MOAB had it chronographed right up there with the fastest tradbows out there.
My Trad Gang Anniversary MOAB is my fave one piece hunting longbow ... 60", 50# @ 28" ... red cedar limb veneers over bamboo cores, cocobolo and red cedar riser, elk horn limb tips ...

Hello everyone! I've been lurking quietly for quite awhile, but have a question.
I've been trying to decide between the MOAB and a TS III. The MOAB is calling to me, but I have a 31" draw length... Do you think I'd be better off ordering a 66" TS III instead for shooting comfort? I have a 62" recurve now, and don't experience much fingerpinch, but this will be my first LB. The feeling would be about the same wouldn't it?
Chris,
That MOAB sure looks familiar! The whitetails in Michigan are glad to see it back in Iowa.
Dave
MOAB's are sure nice. And yes, they are his fastest model bow. I had one made not long ago, however, the handle was just a bit too small in my hand. But that was my fault in not communiting with Jim well I guess. Live and learn. You'll never find a more honest man then Jim.
As far as 'performance'....they 'perform' well for me. :D
Good to have it back Dave! Take care!
Chris
I picked up one of the prototypes a few years ago which was marked "Thunderstick X" and it is a fantastic performer.
If you are looking for a quality stick at a fair price, why shop around? You have found it!
Yall are killin mee :) ...this makes me want to buy another longbow...one at about 58# might be just the ticket for huntin bow!!! :wavey:  :D :campfire:
Mine was one of the best shooting longbows I have ever shot. I wish I would have kept it. Time to look at another.
Dan

This is my buck from last year (first trad kill), and my MOAB. Verry nice bow, fast, quiet, smooth and a looker to boot. It's a keeper for sure!

Note: please do not post images wider than 640 pixels - thanx.
pistol....we want a pic... :)
Great bows, plenty fast, smooth draw, love the grip. Terry, please DON'T post a pic of the one with the Tamo Ash veneers, these boys just couldn't handle it
JC got a real nice one from me a year or so ago. Was just a little to heavy for my liking at my draw. Still have my eye out for one in a weight I like. Excellent bows.
Send me a camra!!!!!!!!!!!!I'm still waiting for a friend to come over ,BUT if you look in the Aug.-Sept issue 1995 of Traditional Bowhunter you'll see one that is the spitten image of mine.Pete
bayouLBman;
Jim made a prototype in 58" once but the 60" out performed it by a mile and that is as short as he makes them. 60" is plenty short enough for Double Bull blinds and tree stands in the TX brush.
Michael
