Title: Footing aluminums
Post by: X2 on March 12, 2007, 12:04:00 AM
I have read a lot about footing easton axis arrows with a 1 inch piece of 1916 aluminums, but has anyone tried it on a aluminum? I wanted to give it a try on my judo/blunt arrows. I took a 2016 and found that a 2216 fits over it perfect. I will have to get out and do a little roving/stump shooting and see how they work.

That reminded me of the two piece aluminum arrows I made for a mountain lion hunt. Looks like they will servive a beating.

Wow, pretty innovative and looks really tough. After all, ya' basically just turned the front of your arrow into a 2232, size and strength wise...

Got out and did some shooting with these, and they are tanks. Couldnt bend one, and I tried. Shot them into trees. Now I have got to try them on some small game. I spend a lot of time stumping and small game hunting when I am camping/big game hunting. This will be nice for when I hit the rock that looked like a dirt clod.
