Title: New Cheater
Post by: Shadow Hunter on March 11, 2007, 09:52:00 PM
After seeing some of the craftmanship on this sight. I decided to try my hands at building a Cheater Knife. I started with a very old rusty abused Meat cleaver and this is what I came up with. It's about 9" total length with a Osage handle. Tell me what you think.  (http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w225/Drosburg/P3110037.jpg)   (http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w225/Drosburg/P3110038.jpg)

Thanks guys. Yes this was my first but won't be the last. I showed this to my wife and her only comment was that it looked like something you could walk to the store and buy, I don't think it was fancy enought for her, but it looks great to me. Thanks again

The best advice I could give is to spend sometime searching the net, there are several really good how to sites out there that will walk you though it step by step. There is also a couple articals on this site, just need to do a search. Other than that just give it a try the materials can be had for little or nothing so your not out anything other than your time if you mess one up. I have a total of 6 to 8 hours in the knife above including 4 hours of hand polishing the blade, the materials cost me nothing it was all stuff I had laying around my shop from other projects.
