Bocate is about as good as it gets IMHO.
Kenny those are going to make a sweet looking bow. Make sure you post pictures
Mike,I've got an all bocote bow cept the boo core, they are cool!!
Galen, how ya doin? Liking NM? Thought I'd try my hand at grindin lams, prolly no $ savings, just build more bows!!
Bocote's a great "natural camo" limb veneer. I think my new Horne longbow goncalo alves limbs are pretty "woods natural camo", too ...

Rob.
Kenny is that Bocote?? I have never seen bocote look like that.
Looking good. You guys are making some nice stuff out there.
Rob, those look better to me than my bocote, mines too black overall.....
Lewis, thats sposed to be black walnut, sure didn't look like that on the outside of the board!
I think those will make awesome looking limbs. What beautiful grain. It'll look great when finished. Be sure to show us some pictures when you are finished. Mike
Might those lams have been from an air-dried board? AD walnut can be full of surprising colors -- reds, purples, even hints of green. The kiln drying process strips a LOT of color out of walnut.
Nice looking wood there Kenny. Nick suggested we try to make it down to MO sometime around the end of March early April. We'll have to stop in to see the new lam grinder and shoot some BS and a few arrows.
MMMMMMMMM Bacote! Can't wait to see this baby Kenny
Mike,I will def. post pics when we get-r-done!!
Woody, its sposed to be kiln dried,a fellow bought it in KC and gave it to me for cuttin out some rack plaques, well worth the saw job!!
Eddie, bring those new bows and a crappie rod too.
Thomas, its sposed ta be walnut, but I like it!
