Title: Fletch glue for wipe on poly
Post by: SOS on March 10, 2007, 05:01:00 PM
I know this has been discussed a million times, but I couldn't find it in a search.  I'm putting together some dowel rod stumpers and have just coated them with Miniwas wipe-on poly.  Will the Platinum fletchtite glue work well for the fletch.  Or do I need to get some Duco or use my fletchtape?  Steve

Above all, that Fletch-Tape should work on just about everything...

I've used minwax poly(about 20yrs) and water based poly(the last 10) , I've always used bohning glue and have never had a problem with loose fletch.

I've been told it shouldn't be, but that's my expereince...try the platinum, it's good stuff.

I like the fletch tape, but I'm trying to use up a bunch of old right wing feathers and the old fletching tool is hard to get the fletch tape to work.  May just have to try the platinum in see if it works, cuz that's what I have.  I'll just to a few and see before I fletch'em all.  thanks.
