I posted this question earlier in the wrong forum and I think it vanished ...
Anyhow. For folks that have used both, what (if any) difference in penetration do you believe exists between the 4 blade and 2 blade Delta?
The bleeders on the Delta 4bl. are fairly small so I wouldn't think they'd be too much of a drag.
Shot from a high 40#'s - low 50#'s bow would there be any noticeable difference on deer?
I have never noticed a diffrence in penetration, and have shot delta's for years, I have seen noticable better blood with the bleeders as a whole, but you can also get a great blood trail with a sharp 2 blade if put in the right place. Just be sure your heads are sharp this makes
alot of diffrence in blood on the ground..
From a textbook point of view, the 2-blade should yield better penetration. From a reality standpoint, it's a non-issue. I think Terry Green's killed more deer than CWD with Delta 4-blade heads, and I don;t think he's ever had a problem burying one in the dirt on the far side of an animal.
I would have to aggree with the others. I have shot 2 and 4 blade heads into animals and never seen a penetration difference. I wouldn't worry about it unless I was hunting African or Aisiatic buffalo. Joseph
I have to concur. No real mesurable diffrence between the two , penetration wise. I do have difficulty putting an edge on the Zwicky bleeder blades. This is why I prefer magnus or the old Bear razorheads with replacable razorblades over the Zwickys. Then again I've never really noticed any advantage with the 4 blades either
