Title: What BH for turkeys with a 42# pull?
Post by: mgompf on March 08, 2007, 04:13:00 PM
I wanted some suggestions on what BH to shoot out of a 42# Gamemaster for turkeys.

I have some 125 grain 3 blade muzzys that fly great. I am just worried about getting enough penetration with the light weight.

I am shooting XX75 1816's @ 28.5".

Really????? Any SHARP broadhead will work fine.

If the muzzys fly great, use them. TRUST ME!!!!! Hitting that Tom is harder than killing him   :archer:

the point on them muzzys can be sharpened and if done lightly with a fine diamond stone that point will actually cut hair and penetration won't be a problem----> plus if you hit one of them Turkey bones that muzzy will bust it up..

now with that being said Id say any broadhead will work fine if you hit him good, make sure you don't have too fine of a point though.

ill be fortunate this year to go after turkeys this year with miss faith.....i have a slight idear what im doing for arrows, but i havent finalized anything, im thinking of a 2117 cut to 28 1/2 and cappin it with a gobbler guillotine, ive heard and seen really good things about this broadhead, the only thing i am worried about is if i drop my arm and get a body shot with it, i think ill be packing a snuffer if that is the case, hopefully the shock of the gg hitting him will give me a second or two to throw another' un at em....

I shot one last year with a 42# SA Widow and a 125 grain Snuffer, Total arrow weighed 380 grains. Shawn
