Title: Homemade Cat quiver...anyone??
Post by: GEREP on March 05, 2007, 08:44:00 PM
I'm looking for ideas for a homemade Cat style quiver. Has anyone made one? If you have, please post pics or if you know of any plans anywhere, please advise.
Thanks,

KPC

I made one out of copper pipes that would slide inside one another. Drilled a series of holes w/ screws to adjust length. Used a break  on 1/8" plexiglass to form hood and broadhead pouch held together w/ pop rivets. Covered w/ camo tape. Pop riveted a L bracket to top and put a cheap fanny pack on it. Works ok-Hap

GEREP:  I have not made one but my hunting buddy did--made the hood from the bottom part of an anti-freeze jug (plastric), it was shaped just right and about 8-10 inches deep.  He covered it with a piece of brown denim from and old pair of jeans (he's very frugal!), the hood was screwed to a pair of dowel rods of appropriate size (half inch I'm thinking) and he used a plastic electrical box for the base and cut the ends out for access.  He cut the dowel rods to proper length for his arrows and made it so it's not adjustable--easier to do.  The top has foam in it like the regular Catquiver and he lined the bottom where the arrows rest with a piece of leather.  He used a pair of old suspenders for the straps.  The capacity is a bit larger than the regular Cats.  Works well and he has next to nothing in it.....Dave
