http://tradgang.com//noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=043089
From the pics, roo looks a lot like good string silencer fur. Oh, and Jeff, you can email me through the site. See the goof standing next to an envelope at the top of the post? Tonight would not have been good though. Got a doggie with an upset digestive.
When your doggie has an upset digestive, and it's a "spinner", you keep a sharp eye on it. Yessir! :readit:

Marblesonac, that's one I made for the auction. I've got another one (very similar) that I use. They're a lot of fun to make.
Hey great pics everyone. Do not mean to be a bother but, Marblesonac ya need to resize your pics, they are 800 pix wide and will be deleted as soon as one of the mods see them. Cannot be more than 640 pix wide.
Danny
Here is the one I made. (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h159/1joker_2006/DSCN0715.jpg)
Jbiorn, those kind of comments are not welcome on this site.
If I post pics of my daughter on here modeling things we make and you make comments like that, it would not be appreciated.
Thanks Danny!!! Done!
Woody, I remembered it from the auction, but couldn't remember who made it. It sure is special. Will you be entering anything in the auction this year?
Wow, there is some talent that hangs out around here!
Being talentless in the craft department, it makes me feel good to hang out with people that are talented :knothead:
The one I carry all the time..... I make quivers but this one is special...aquired from a trade and when we found out it was one Barb made, well....it will never leave our possession. Lovely memory of a sweet lady, and do miss her.... an inspiration to and loved by many.
I wanted to mention my beautiful bear claw braided in kangaroo leather from Robin (roughcountry) that showed up in my mailbox one day and my custom AG from ClintV who makes abslotuely gorgeous leatherwork and is the only one I will ever wear.

And this last pic gives a glimpse of my favorite quiver. I made it as a prototype, musta been almost twenty years ago now. It is starting to wear out. And I had to put a new binder clip on the strap.

Here is a pic that Barb took of a quiver that she sold me. Before she sent it, she put some beaver fur on the strap ends, and took off the feathers at the ends. The two center feathers, she left on. They were from her parrot.

No amount of money could ever buy it from me. Special quiver made by a special lady!
Sorry I can't post pics, but I believe it is on Shell and Franks webpage.Maybe one of them will see this and post a pic of it.
you can make a quiver easy,,,, don't say you can't until you at least see how easy it is.
Here is the one I built in my build along.

Here are some more quivers that I made.
This is my latest bow quiver creation. It carries a broadhead and a blunt. The bottom half, that isn't shown in this pic, is a two arrow version of the one in the first bow quiver pic.

hey chortdraw i just love the buff carving awesome. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :archer: hey are you the same draw lenth as me 26 1/2"
Here is my most prized Quiver, and I'll never have another that is as beautiful or mean so much to me, It comes from Mr.Vic, the man has some serious talent!
oh yeah i second that.
Always surprises me when I see Barbs quivers..I remember Barb working on the two that Killie has and a couple of the others..I still have around 12 of her quivers that she made and a few she was working on..Barb always had a few quivers going at the same time..She loved to make Plains style quivers but hated back quivers..She always said she was to darn chubby to be reaching behind her back for arrows..
Fur quivers ARE functional. This is the bobcat.
Here's the Wolverine quiver.
I wish I did have the same draw length as you Wolfman. But I only have a 24" draw.
I'm not a pro-archer, but I did stay at a Howard Johnson once :bigsmyl:
Chort
Lot's of good lookin' quivers.
Problem is, now I don't have any idea what kind to make. :banghead: Lotta good lookin' stuff you guys are makin'. :clapper:
Keep 'em comin', and thanks for all the good ideas.
Keep 'em coming....Maybe y'all can generate a Quiver hall of fame..
:campfire:
hey chort as they say good things come in small packages. LOL!! :archer: so what if we both got short arms LOL!!!
The very first quiver I ever made. The yote came from mxico.
Here is a hip quiver that I made for my wife.
I use this one the most. The knife is a paleo period stone blade wrapped with leather lace.
This one was made for me by 4runr on a trade.
I made these for my 13yr. old daughter and her friend.
I forgot this one. I made it for my 14yr. old son about four yrs. ago.
I do want to include one more if I could, I did'nt yet because I don't have her made as hoped since I have alot of priorities to catch up on first and foremost...
Besides the one I posted that I carry of Barb's, this beautiful otter girl is my prize and will be the only one I made for myself and is extremely precious to me because it was a gift from a very special friend who Frank and I cherish deeply.
As long as I've been making them, I never have made one for myself yet because of time restraints....
When I received this special gift, I knew exactly what I had planned on doing with her (plains quiver) and that this gift means more than words can express.
I've posted already with these plans but thought this would be a great opportunity again to show her off and to thank our Awesome friend, Ken (adkmountainken).
She's sitting on the table next to my chair as I work so I can feel that fur and there is no other fur that feels as soft as an otter (imo). She is perfect!
You ALL have such gorgeous quivers and beautiful work!!
 :notworthy: :notworthy:
This is the coolest thread yet.Keep em coming. Some of you who said that yours werent that impressive were mistaken.I was impressed and inspired by all of them.
This makes a neat hunting quiver. :bigsmyl:
I bought it at Gary's Custom Knives at Baltimore last year. I saw the knife on the table, and asked if it fit the sheath on the strap of the quiver. What a coincidence! It DID!!
Gary is a great guy to spend money on, he turned this quiver from a left-hand to a right-hand that afternoon. He pays attention to what you say, and will work hard to see that you are happy with what you pick out.
I didn't like the metal button on the front, so I put one on made from a round of lignum vitae that my friend gave me.
Killdeer :archer:
nice stuff killy :archer:
I have never really liked back quivers or side quivers, but I have made a few of each.... actually "made" is too strong a word. Threw together might be too. But I have given them all away to aspiring archers except my first back quiver. I still use it on occasion for stumping... it doesn't show up in the picture, but the number 8 is branded into the leather, which is why I bought this particular piece, thats my wife's (then girlfriend) "lucky" number, and I figured I might be able to use some mojo in the elk woods.
