I've been shooting Black Widow MAIIs for almost twenty years, without so much as a single issue. In a literal sense, they are works of art, but more importantly, they are tough, fast and accurate performers. I shoot weekly, year round(some would say weakly, year round) and just leave my bows strung and hanging on the wall for display and convenience. A couple of my bows have been strung for close to fifteen years!

Can't go wrong with a Widow. Many vintage Widows in good or better shape often sell for close to what they sold for new.

Morrisons!  Great performers, one of the best men to deal with you will ever meet.  In the last year i have bought 4.  Both shawnees and a take down.  Best bows i have shot.  Can't go wrong with a Morrison!!

I have my second trails end on order. Very smooth and quick, the only down side is the 12 month or better wait. Worth it to me though.

I would recommend a Marriah Thermal. I have one and love it. The bowyer is Ric Anderson and Marriah Bows is a sponsor on this site. The Thermal is a balance between fast, quite and smooth. Not only that but Ric does beautiful work.

I have nothing bad to say about Bighorn, that's why I have 4. Rivers edge is right up there also.

The best one is the one you shoot good and efficient for your style of hunting. I wouldn't trade my Voodoo customized Hoyt Huntmaster for any of the top ones listed above.

Another Morrison tribe member here! The Shawnee with Arapahoe limbs is one sweet bow.

I've never shot a takedown recurve that I liked better than my silvertip. That being said, what I think [or what anybody else thinks] is the best might not work at all for you. It's been said before, but you really have to try out as many as you can to see what YOU think is the best.

Mr. Vic, I have two of those and they are very nice, but I'm not sure the limbs are up to the quality of the riser work.  I think Voodoofire1's new (hybrid) limbs might be better.  I wouldn't trade my modded Huntmasters for any bow either, but it's because Steve made them for me and my son Andy, not for the bow quality.

When he comes back from his hunt, I will be talking to him about possibly making a bow for my daughter.

Steve does not currently make bows on a commercial basis.

Brandon Stahl,  www.roseoakbows.com (http://www.roseoakbows.com)   makes some great bows, as good as anyone.

It's a shame he was left off anyone's top 10 list, but such is the life of a relatively new guy on the block.

All the bows listed are very good, save yourself some money and buy a Chek-mate. I have owned Black Widows aswell as other bows but none could outshoot my Chek-Mate "Hunter I".
