Then there's this alternative!

My dad had some of this decal stuff after "pimping" his little hunting motorhome with camo...seems to work nice over black glass/carbon.
Ernie
very nice lookin bows, I like the camo and dull finish bow best myself.
I'll take whichever one you ain't gonna use! :D
Very nice Ernie. My address will be PMd to you shortly. LOL
im in on that one two rob.LOL!!!! hey man awesome bow nice finish. :goldtooth:
I've got lights shining on that "shiny" one from all directions. That is the flattest finish I could get my hands on, and in your hands, it is very flat!
Thanks all,
Ernie
In my hands, certainly :bigsmyl:
WoW , very nice :0)
Nice job, great finish!!
If I may ask Ernie, what type of finish do you use and how do spray it on? Currently I'm using automotive can spray laquer which suits me well.
Arnold
V-Archer
Very nice!
Man wish I could do that. You have a God given talent sir.Kip
I wish KIP...It dont come easy!! :0)
V, its a 2 part auto clear coat..you can get them at most automotive stores. Mine is from Napa...actually 3 parts with the thinner...gotta spray it with a gun...or paint it on but lots of sanding to do after that.
Thanks all,
Ernie
Yes sir, that is sweet.
Nice looking bows....
VERY NICE!
Yep thats a great looking bow. Gotta see it braced. Love the camo limbs.<><
I'll get a braced pic up later tonight! Thanks all.
Good stuff Ernie, I saw Ron last weekend and he was proud of what you done with them bows. Says they are real shooters.
I look forward to seeing them shoot. 3d season is about here.
Not too shabby Ernie! Good job.
Ernie, does it go on glossy and then you sand it out flat? I've been using the t-bird. Have the gloss and flat. Honestly, the flat dries just a glossy as the gloss. I have to buff it down to make it flat and it still looks more like satin when I'm finished. Be nice if I could spray it and be done. By the way, I love that finish. Of course on bows that nice, even dried mud would look good. Mike
Seeya in May for sure Rob!
Thanks all.
Bo...this stuff is dead flat when it dries and will get flatter if you sand it out...if you want the best examples possible check out Toelkes bows.. I'll be there soon..or close.
Ernie
Go with the first one and ya can send it to me for a tset drive. Very Nice! Shawn
Here's the camo one braced. Tiller is pretty good, but I had some issues with some experimental carbon on the top limb, so it actually has a slightly different profile...The "purdy" bow, I haven't put together to get a pic of yet, but the limb profiles will match better!!

Great looking bows. Nice to know you have the finish down now, next all you have to do is get my mailing address correct and we'll both be happy  :biglaugh:
very nice looking. Hardest part was probably getting the finish to show off adequately in the pics...at least for me it is.
Yeah...thats for sure Ken...
Thanks again all.
Ernie

Hornseeker; I don't know anything about bow building, but have you tried just oiling the bows? Either with Tung oil or Teak oil? When we built our house we oiled the widow sills (maple) with teak oil, makes a beautiful finish, you gotta do it every so often but I am sold on it over varnish/varathane etc.
Oh; BTW, I am drooling over these pics-what a nice piece of work!
SWT...I oiled my first few...its a dandy finish, but the prep work on the wood is way more intensive and the upkeep is more intensive...plus, it doesn't offer a "hard" finish to protect the bow when dropped..
I would have NO prob having an oil finish on my own bow..
Here's one that is "oiled".. Thanks!

Thanks for the come back. I'll have you make one of these for me when my ship comes in.
I am new here (tradgang) and learning lots and getting the "bug" back again, shooting almost every day, even at work lunch time. Love it.
GREAT bunch here.
like some one else said, "danged ship"

Anytime man!
Thanks again,
Ernie
