Hey Gang! I got it! I got it!
I'll get pictures up later tonight!
I can tell you it's a beautiful bow, and wow! what a shooter! I don't have a chono, but let me tell you this long bow shoots arrows like a stolen race car drives! Mike wasn't kidding when he told me to "aim low". I LOVE the grip design. It's such that you can't help but to hold it the same way each time, and it really puts the arrow as close to one's fist as can get without actually being on the fist. It really feels like i am shooting off my knuckle. Lastly I felt no finger pinch despite the bow's short length of 58".
She's 55#@28" draw, and that's a 5 pound increas for me, so she does feel a little stout to me right now, but I am training with her and I just need to get stronger.
I am SOO impressed with this bow. PIcts to come!
Derek
A friend of mine has two Dryads, a Soothsayer and a Bushwacker, both around 40#. Very smooth and suprisingly fast. The Bushwacker is his favorite.
Waiting to see your pictures...
It's the only bow I've shot since I got mine..... Mike knows how to spoil a guy..... Of course now I'm thinking since this is my go to huntin bow I'll need another one for a backup ..... Hopin I can sell the wife on that logic...... :D Terry
How long have you had yours AZ?
Terry got his back in January on our Javie hunt.
Been trying to call you, how'd it shoot last night?
Mike
Man I just read the test review of that bow in the current issue of TBM and it sure did well! I have had my eye on a Dryad BW for a while, but have to pay for a couple bows I currently have on order first!
Ok as promised the photos!
I appologize for my lack of a decent back ground. But we do the best with what we have at hand. ;)

58" Bushwhacker. 55#@28"
the woods are Osage and Cocobolo.
Watusi horn backed, and the same horn for the string ends.
Also has layers of Bamboo and backed with a diamond back rattler.
If your thinking about getting a bushwhacker, get the horn backed option, it's worth every penny and looks good.
is it fiberglass limbs??
Well it's actually a horn belly and bamboo backed. But who's counting. Nope no glass or carbon in these bows. All Natural.
Mike
Nice looking bow there.
that's what's so amazing to me is that these bows are all natural and yet shoot as fast as many fiberglassed bows.
Sweet bow but you're using the wrong hand to hold the bow!
Sweet!!
Wow! That thing is puuuuuurty. Like the grip. Justin
Gorgeous bow! Congrats! How about a pic of the Watusi? Is that the same Watusi we learned to do in the 60's?
Nope, pretty sure that's the RIGHT hand to hold the bow Waya...that sure is a sweet looking bow.
Congrats...
Bjorn, I wasn't born till the 70's. What is the Watusi? or do I not want to know?
ColdSteel, yeah the grip is really well designed and as you can see it puts the arrow RIGHT over your fist. I have never seen a bow with that style of shelf that puts the arrow so close. I can just barely feel the feathers brush by with each shot.
Beautiful bow man!
As I always say, them "boys" do make some pretty bows!
I was just looking at the website and thought that was glass on those bows as well. :) I am thinking of trying my hand at one of there bow blanks.I might see how bad I can bugger one up. :scared:
Aw, I bet you'd make it a beauty too, James.
I don't know about all that Bernie. We will see. :) I can saw stuff up in thin pieces and with a can of smooth-on make most things I want but I have not tried a regular back bow before. You know me.I am more of a glass and carbon kind of guy. :bigsmyl:
I wanta see it and shoot it when you get it all gussied up, James. (I don't pull longer than you do.) Just Hush up and get busy! LOL
Oh I don't care how far you pull it Bernie.I know you are not strong enough to hurt it any. :D It will be 3 weeks or so before I get it but I will probably have 2 or 3 to play with by the time we go to Hickory. :)
You're killing me. Have one on order and can't wait. I already own a Windtalker by Dryad Bows. Have been shooting a bushwacker for several months now and love shooting it. Just get goose bumps thinking about it. Can't wait. You're killing me or did i already say that.
TTT for Tony and the boys from the hog hunt.
Mike
Here is a pic of the horn belly

Yep that's her all right! Great picture Mike!
I finaly was able to get her tuned today. I was able to do it nice and easy and with my three year old daughter in tow who didn't really want to be there either. So considering I had to keep an eye on her, and tune the bow and it went easy, well, it's a good shootin bow!
After that I took her out the the range and was really able to put her through the paces. Once I figured out how to shoot this bow, man I was shooting 6" groups at twenty yards pretty consistantly until my arm got tired. This bow flat SHOOTs. It's not as forgiving as the WindTalker, but I think that's to be expected considering the huge difference in Lenghts. I have always been a gap shooter, but I found out today that this bow seem to do better shooting it more instictivly. Once I stopped "trying" so hard, I shot it great! OH and I was shooting those Sitka Spruce arrows I made up in the Build-along. They shot just dandee!
This is my new go to bow.
thank you so much Mike and son!
Derek
oh yeah one more thing...when I was at the proshop today tuning her, I got the chance to get in an Ameristep "doghouse" blind. It's one of those really short ones you can't stand in. I was able to kneel or sit and use the bow at a normal cant with plenty of room between roof and floor!
D-
Good deal Derek! Man you have a Windtalker and a BW?! Man two nice ones for sure! Now get out there and put it on a critter!!
Congrats Derek! She's a real looker and I know she'll be a sweet shooter as well. I've shot the prototype bow with the garolite belly and was extremely impressed with it. I've got a horn bellied Bushwacker on order that I hope to have by Turkey season -- I can't wait! This will be my third Dryad bow and they just keep getting better and better!!!!
