Just got some new limbs for my Morrison that will put me at around 68 lb with my draw. Need a small diameter carbon shaft recomendation that will allow me to reach around 600 grn to 650 grn with 100 grn insert and 125 to 150 grn point and fly true, What is you set up and recommedation?
What length shaft??
Carbon Express Heritage 350(12 grains per inch)+ 150 grain point+ 100 grain insert would make it pretty close to what you want. It's carbon, but not the smallest diameter you can get.
Need more info on your draw length and what arrow lenght you would try to achieve. But just guessing at a normal 28in draw, you will probably have to shoot a min. 340 maybe 300 to get the spine with that tip weight and the total arrow weight will not be a problem. Set up some 340 Beman Classics with 100gr inserts and 125gr tips at 31in and they weighed right at 600grs. Good luck, Mark
Sorry guys, I have a 28.5 inch draw and can go to 29 and 1/4 bop. currently shooting the beman mfx classics 340 at 29.25 bop at 60 lbs with 100 grn inserts and 125 point, don't think this will do it on the heavier limbs and don't want to decrease point weight. regards..
The arrows you need are available in the classifeds here http://tradgang.com//noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=61;t=002659. There are 29.5 Beamen Black Max w/100 brass inserts, this will give you a 603 grain arrow with a 125 grain tip. He also has the Max 4 arrow which would give you a 633 grain arrow with the same tip.

Just FYI, I decided try some 75/95 gold tips and paper tuned last night with a 75# Tim Miegs LB I had just gotten, with a 27 1/2" draw. I shot bare shaft bullet holes with a 29 1/2" arrow and 145 grain tips and 1/8" nock height.. No weighted inserts.
The fletched arrows grouped very nice at the 15yd range I was at.
My 65# JD Berry shoot to stiff with same arrow. I will try 55/75.
I will get inserts as you described and try this week as I would also like a heavier arrow.
Hope this helps.
Just finished shooting the new 65 lb limbs which scaled out at 68 lbs with my draw with the same arrows set up for my 57 limbs( beman mfx classics 340 cut to 29.25 with 100grn insert and 125 fp=571 grn), they flew like darts, how could this be?,, fletches I am guessing ..shot 571 grn arrow at 193 fps avg.
Shoulder feels it too!!!!need to warm up a little more before switching. Chile bowhunter, yep saw those and talked with nj and they spine to weak even at 65lb.
Thanks for the heads up though.. Does any one know if the mfx classic comes in 300 and have you tried them?
