Well I called Ron today and placed
an order for a new Super Shrew Deluxe.
But, I don't what woods to have it made
from. Any ideas out there? Pics and comments would be very helpful.
Thanks
Pops

If I ever do another, I'd like midnight dymondwood and that dark gray stained curly birch :saywhat:
I wonder how King Wood and Osage would look. Alan
I'm buying the Samarai on the classifieds and have 2 more ordered that I'll get late this year. One is for my wife. Gonna fix her up with something fancy so interested in pics as well. Like JC's bow. Thats sharp.
Pops good for you.Congrats I kept my pick simple and just ordered a green chameleon. I should get it next Oct.
OH and JC that bow sure is sharp! Midnight dymond woodand darkgray stained curlybirch sounds real good too.
After seeing it I'd have to second the zebrawood!
(http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c359/snakewood3/snakeskins041.jpg)Snakewood overlays on riser and tips. Figured Bubinga riser, curly bubinga belly, 'boo cores. I'll take some more pics and get them up tommrow.
WOW
Nice looking bows.
I dont know what the wood is (bet that helps) but if you like it Ron could tell you

The Chameleon laminations they have been using lately are AWESOME.
nice
Snakewood very nice I like that top one looks like grey action wood on the front of the riser.wt pops looks like brown action wood or dymond wood.Roger you had to say that Octobers a long way off man oh man.
I ordered a "JC" version of the Super Shrew. 60" takedown, same woods and right around 50# at 29".
I keep waiting for some of you Shrew "hoarders" to cough-up some of your Shrews on the classifieds. I'm starting to think I'm going to have to place an order if I want one ... :)
No way. I have 3, my son has 1, and they aren't going anywhere!

Thanks Dad!
Ray,
Have you shot a "Classic" yet? I liked it a LOT, much more so than the lil fav'...that would make quite a bow for the turkey blind. I am trying to get the Ol' Man to remember I have been on "the list" for a LONG time now... ;)
Not having much luck!
I shot the Classic quite a bit in Kzoo. It is a SUPER bow. Very quick, no hand shock at all. I really love shooting a longbow. I think a Classic with snakeskins would be awesome.
My Little Favorite is working out nicely..one of the things I like about it is that it points and shoots like a long bow...and I mean that in a good way. I have shot it for a week now, and I swear I haven't sent a bad arrow downrange yet.
Steve,
No, I didn't get to shoot one of the classics, but would love to. I hear ya on Ron's mind/steel trap. I highly doubt you're going to convince him.
I'm going to patiently wait for my "JC" bow. Over a year out, but it'll be a dandy.
You won't be sorry Ray, it looks waaaay better than the pics. And of course, you know how they shoot :readit:
JC,
After you posted those pics, several people have requested zebra wood. I had to go buy another board of zebrawood, that is just right to get cool looking grain under the glass.
Java Man
You definately got the look right Gregg, I've never seen a better looking cut of wood. Very proud of it...and as I said before, it's a shooter!

Gregg,
I'm glad you found some more Zebrawood and thanks for poking your head in. Now get back to the forms and glue-up process already. July 2008 will be here before you know it. ;)
Gregg,
yer gonna need some more when my order comes up later this year. :goldtooth:
Javaman's got fancier stuff than that in his stash so really try and challenge him. I'm thinking of ordering one with veneers sawn from the cherry tree George Washington cut down, limb cores cut from the handle of John Henry's hammer, a riser cut from a beam of the USS constitution, a solid platinum strike plate (for style), shelf material made from snow leopard fur, tip overlays made from the beak of a giant squid and a string twisted from mammoth hair. Should be a one of a kind huh Gregg ;) .
JC,
Pignut sent me that nice zebrawood board that is in your bow. The new board I bought should be just as nice.
Other than that, he should be ignored! :biglaugh:
Now I gotta get to work on a Deluxe.
Pignut make sure you post some pics when you get that bow.Might want to order one just like it.
Laughing out loud, Pignut! And not too far-fetched for this gang! (You left out an inlay made from a piece of the True Cross. :p )
Killdeer :biglaugh:
Yes, Pignut has a unique sense of humor. He's also a great friend. :campfire:
Ahh the True Cross...what was I thinking. I was actually going to go with a bone strikeplate made from a relic of Joan of Arc(for courage under fire) but your right Killdeer, the True Cross is more appropriate.
Ohh and I never sent Javaman anything, he's full of bologna. Mmmm...bologna, maybe I'll have him skin the limbs with bologna casing. Delicious. Now if I could just find a way to incorporate the filling from a Suzy-Q into this bow I'll have a winner.
Remember Javaman, we may have never met but I'm like an itch in a bad place. You can't ignore me for long, and when you finally try and deal with me all you get is a smelly hand and some strange looks  .
Cheers!
I was fortunate enough to buy that Classic Hunter at the Kazoo show and I absolutely love the bow. It is exactly as what has been stated, it's fast, smooth and very soft in your hands and zero finger pinch for a very short bow. If you have never shot one I storngly suggest NOT to shoot it unless you plain on buying one :bigsmyl:
Whoops let me try that again!
