Title: Arrow Saw - Looking for good blades
Post by: JDinPA on February 26, 2007, 11:05:00 AM
I bought this cheap little cut-off saw at HF for cutting arrows. It works great but the blade is already dull after cutting about three dozen arrows.

Anybody have any recommendations on some good replacement blades for the saw? I don't want to keep buying the crappy blades. The blades are 2".

Thanks,
JD

The closest thing I could find was at McMaster-Carr, 2" miniature blade but only a 1/8" arbor. And it was $20.

Checked Grainger and Grizzly...NADA

Check welding shops for abrasive wheels. Abrasive is the way to go. They may only have them down to 3" though. Thats what I use on my arrow saw. They are heavier blades and seem to last longer than the original abrasives. I use a saw I bought from FS arrows 25 years ago. I cut evrything from woodies to carbons with the abrasive wheel.

the auction site has them, I use the 2" abrasive cutoff wheels with the 3/8" arbor.  Harborfreight used to carry them but I don't see them listed anymore, just the saw and the metal blade.

JD,
Awhile back, I purchased a number of those, from that same seller, he sells both NEW and used ones. He's been a good supplier for me, and those do seem to work well.
best regards
