I'm just getting into laminate bow building and am contemplating some designs prior to building. What performance advantage if any would there be to using Carbon(or fiberglass for that matter) on the back and belly that was tapered like the core material vs. just being parallel with a tapered core? I havn't heard of anyone using tapered. Also would just using tapered on the back or just the belly be beneficial? Hope that sounds clear.

i had the idea as well, thought it might reduce the limpweight a bit.
but than on the other hand, tapering the glasslayer in way that its geting thinner towards the tips isnt a good idea.
it will weaken the tips, and thats a thing i dont want in my bows.
i try to get the last 10" as stiff as possible.
my sugesstion would be,drop that idea for now
and build a dozen bows or so.
if they turn out the way you want them, jump back on your tapered glasslayer design.
first get some experiance and a feeling for the stuff.
