Been 3 in. of ice and 4-5 in. of snow on the ground for the last weekor so and all the easy pickings are hid except for my birdfeeder and they found it, have a trail worn out coming up the hill to it, first time Ive seen them there this early though. :bigsmyl: :thumbsup: Whatcha got in that feeder? Hope the snow/ice melts soon. It sure is hard on the game... They look healthy though.

That will do it. :saywhat: :thumbsup:
Nice pic's.They look healthy
Good looking deer... :thumbsup:
Dean;
Pretty looking country. Makes me homesick.
Those deer look great. Its almost March and those deer are as plump as they would be on Thanksgiving day.
I sure am glad I don`t have to sleep in the woods and eat sticks. I wouldn`t be looking so well.
As a whole, the winter here in N.E. Michigan hasn`t been too bad. We had some brutal cold for about a month, but it started late and gave all the critters a good jump towards spring.
Keep the corn out there and give them something good to chew on those cold nights. Think spring.
love seeing whitetails in the fuzzy winter coats.
love the picture with the doe off in the woods with the red birds. takes me back. anyway, great pics. the deer will do just fine, they are tough, but im sure when they found that corn it tasted like ice cream!
Nice Cardinals. Fat deer, must not be that tough for them.
What all can you feed deer in the winter without killing them? We had a blizard last week and freezing rain yesterday. Today I seen 18 to 22 deer (hard to count when they wont hold still) in the field behind my house. They were moving around looking for something to eat. It would be pretty cool to get them a little closer and help them out. Last year they came up in our yard and ate leftover flowers around our deck when the ice was covering everything. I've always been afraid to feed them since I heard about all the deer found dead. They claimed to track it back to someone that was trying to be helpful and put a bunch of hay out for them to eat. They said once deer go into browse mode you shouldn't feed them because their stomace can handle foods that produce sugars. Is that true? If corn is safe I think I'm going to start putting some out for them.
They eat corn all winter if they can find it, just feed them some cracked or whole kernel corn if you want, wont hurt them at all, if so all of our deer would be dead.
Thanks!
Say what you want about a big racked buck,but to me a white-tail doe is the most beautiful thing in the woods.
